Russians, not knowing Freedom for over a millennium, are choosing fascism. It's their comfort zone.

At one time after the old USSR broke up, I wanted to tour the country, but knowing how they treat gays there, I would never give my tourist dollars up there.

I admire Russia for taking a stand against the scourge of homosexual perversion infesting the world today!

The world needs more great countries like Russia!

It's like they have a national psychology of submissives, worshiping "strong men" and feeling secure when their dog collars are tightened.

They have been confused to think that anyone who diverges from subservience and conformity to the wishes of some master or other is "evil" or "a threat to the Rodina".

The fact is, such individuality is only a threat to the control systems of their overlords.

After the Soviet Union broke up, I had high hopes, and expectations, that Russia would become a normal country with a true functioning democracy, the rule of law, and a free economic system. The BIGGEST mistake (obviously) that President Boris Yeltsin made, was picking Putin to succeed him. He's Uncle Joe Stalin II.

Russia cannot seem to escape it's past. Pity the poor Russian people......:(

OUR ideas of Freedom come from a long line of defining and educating events ... NONE of which have occurred in Russia's history.

They don't have the conceptual history for it.

btw, it's thundering and lightning here, and we just had the first few drops of rain here since April 9th. Been about 12 weeks without a drop of rain (that's why it's called "the desert".)
