What a terrific article right from the horses mouth to state it clearly.

Warning, the Trolls are going to hate it.

Let's hope it helps .. but bigots are mental cases .. You could tell them 2 plus 2 are 4 and , if they disliked you , they would argue about the fact .. Their method of raising children is bringing them up to be just as ignorant and intolerant as themselves .. Unless they get treatment early in life admittance of wrong would be unthinkable to them ; for it would practically erase them from existence .

Children raised by two queers doesn't know any better. They're brainwashed into believing being molested and being abused is normal. Someone else has to look out for the children. Keep queers away from children, especially, little boys.
My point proven .. for what can the world expect from someone who writes : "Children raised by two queers DOESN'T know any better ..? Vomit-provoking ignorance ..

Yawn,
I hope the gay community will eventually get over itself. We are no longer that interesting (as a kind of side show parenting act anyway). I'm certain these secondary 'problem' articles do have some appeal for those of us addicted to being martyrs. Or perhaps for those of us, who, without a reason for 'out'rage, don't feel all that interesting at a party.

My partner and I are two empty nesters. Our daughter is all grown up with a husband and child of her own. Compared to the challenges of highschool pecking order, having lesbian mothers is usually a minor blip on the radar of a high- schooler.

Bullies always will find something to use on any kid, should they even need a reason.
In fact, when I hear 'normal' family high-schoolers being made miserable at school, I have to ask... were we the gays actually just crying louder while facing the same stress levels.

We raised our daughter well. Gay or straight parents, high school is still a hellish mess for most kids. It's time to accept the fact that gay parents must earn the respect of others, just like any other kind of family unit. And like all teenagers, kids will attempt to guilt their parents into giving in, using any method of 'sympathy'- in our case, saying it's harder if your parents are gay.

This kind of article - to me - seems more of a self fulfilling prophecy. A well written one, but only realistic for those of us looking for trouble to embrace, and ultimately, complain about.

I initially had that reaction, too, but as I read on I agreed.

Give it a complete read.

Being a family counselor and working with P-Flag for years, I've known loads of kids of gay parents.

Bottom line--kids don't care what gender their parents are. It's the PARENTS care what gender the parents are and, if they do, they teach it to their kids. If the parent don't teach their kids to be sexist, the kids aren't sexist.

The gender of MY straight parents never was an issue to me. I knew that my mother was a drama queen that turned even the smallest issue into the end of the world and my father was level headed and calm about everything, no matter what. Guess who I went to with all my problems?? Not my mom!!

If my father had been the drama queen and my mother the level-headed one, I would have gone to her.

The respective gender of my parents was simply NEVER an issue. I wasn't going to have sex with either of them, so it didn't matter which gender ANY of us were attracted to.

God forbid we should have actually TALKED about sex!! When I came out to my mother, she ran screaming to her shrink for an "emergency session". My father said, "I kinda figured that was the case when that hot girl was after you in the 8th grade and you refused to even return her phone calls. Not a surprise."

My own Godsons have never questioned for a second that I was gay and they accepted my now husband into their lives as my partner without a second thought. Godfathers are for giving way-cool birthday gifts and for showing up at graduations (with money). They couldn't care less about our personal lives.

MOST of the kids I know have at least three or four or more parents already simply because their parents practice serial monogamy and have multiple ex-spouses to show for it. Kids with two or three moms or dads were commonplace LONG before the gays come on the scene.

The only people that believe children are gender-obsessed over what their parents have in their pants are grown-ups that are gender-obsessed over what other people have in their pants. Children just don't care.

Children need to be loved and protected and cared-for, respected and supported. Both men and women have been doing those things for millenia now, as singles, couples, triads, and groups. Which combination of genders those loving supportive parents come in isn't even a little bit material.

It's mighty early over there in Germany. Talk about fabrication! Now make sure you don't post as "Straight Sh00ter/Blonde Queer" for about a week or so. Then you can claim to have been away on that Hawaiian honeymoon you have been posting about!*shhhh, your secret is safe*

If you are trying to say that these young folks were 100% the products of their good upbringing, then yes, you would be correct.

The French have never been able to live up to their famous revolutionary slogan ; their days of glory ended with the fall of the aristocracy , who kept standards up .. Ironically , the revolutionists were all for gay rights ; but the bad element among them did the whole movement in and they have never recovered . A great literature is their last remaining asset ; but what do bigots care for literature or anything else ? Ergo the virulent opposition to gay marriage in some quarters ( or anything else that smacks of true liberty and equality ). But the majority are on our side , make no mistake .

The article mentions how well gay parents deal with having the big sex talk with their kids.

I can only imagine what two gay dads tell their son about sex. Or what about two gay moms having the talk with their son? I'm sure that's gonna be a great talk for the boy.

You seem to think that gay people are completely clueless about heterosexual sex (we're not) and that we would some only discuss *gay* sex with our kids??? Why would you think that??

You need to think through your arguments before you make them. Your assumptions are pretty ridiculous.
