What a lot of hooey.
They were all certain of their deities, and how the deities behave, the natures of the deities and blah, blah, blah.
You're deflecting. You're just getting pissy that you can't lie and say I'm "insisting" that my Goddess loves everyone. You're only highlighting your own dishonesty.

An Epidemic of Bullying

It may be cheap fun to watch someone else get pounded by the thugs--but bullies have a way of turning on their former friends and allies. Watch out--you may be next!

I wonder if Starhawk thought she was a bully when she posted the following against another woman who considers herself a "credible witch?"

When the claws come out, it shows the person as not being quite so "all that."

Wrong. She's talking about her religion in an editorial. That IS what you've been quoting. I know you probably didn't realize that, as you just skimmed as usual, looking for something to whine about.

You're a hypocrite, promoting Atheism while whining that others talking about their own beliefs, self-righteously implying you are somehow better than others because you say you treat others the way you want to be treated, yet whining when someone who is religious promotes the same thing.

You're a fraud.

No, it is not the context of those conversations.

More to the point, in the last, she WAS wrong. As I've explained at least a dozen times. I was making the point that there are many Gods that people believe in, so to say there is only one, is incorrect. At least I began, but since she never replied back, the conversation went no further. I'm sorry you are unable to understand that, but it IS what I was saying.

Stating facts is not "bullying". And yes, we've found another word you don't understand. No surprise.

We need a different measure of strength
Is there such a thing as a 'just war'? The problem with that question is that when we answer 'yes', we end up in a world where there is 'just war'--just war as an ultimate solution to every problem, whether it be terrorists, international diplomacy, drugs in our streets or bugs in our gardens.

So when the Christians state that their god is offended by homosexuality, and Miriam states that the goddess is NOT offended by homosexuality ... who are to believe Bitner?

Are the Christians using their religion to bully those who are gay?

Of COURSE they were her words. When did I say otherwise?

The fact is that she was promoting the very same thing you always do, in an EDITORIAL about her religion. She was not "selling" religion, she was espousing the concept behind the Golden Rule.

Yes it was. You were just as insistent that your religion was right, as were the Christians.

Being right about your religions WAS the context.

My beliefs have not changed one iota since I left religion entirely.

I don't believe in gods of any human creation, but I still keep open to the idea that awareness might continue for all living entities after death of physical bodies.

However, as I can't read the future ... I simply don't know the answers to mysteries.

Some of them do, yes.

And frankly, I don't care WHICH religion you believe on the subject.
