“Pharmacists must seek to raise people's awareness so that all human beings are protected from conception to natural death, and so that medicines truly play a therapeutic role”

Pope Benedict XVI said Monday that pharmacists have a right to use conscientious objection to avoid dispensing emergency contraception or euthanasia drugs - and told them they should also inform patients of the ... via Fables of the reconstruction

We are able to assess that when we bring children to life, they will suffer emotional and physical pain ... often to the extreme.

Abortion is perceived as offending a god, while excruciating suffering of his supposed little ones from birth to death does NOT offend the god in any way whatsoever. Just the breaking of his commandments offends him ... even though according to the nincompoop theologians the god gave us free will.

Religion leaves much to be desired.

PROGRESS

The so-called Christian nations are the most enlightened and progressive...but in spite of their religion, not because of it. The Church has opposed every innovation and discovery from the day of Galileo down to our own time, when the use of anesthetic in childbirth was regarded as a sin because it avoided the biblical curse pronounced against Eve. And every step in astronomy and geology ever taken has been opposed by bigotry and superstition. The Greeks surpassed us in artistic culture and in architecture five hundred years before Christian religion was born.

At least the extinction of the dinosaurs couldn't be blamed on human sin.
That catastrophe was caused by God's sin!

To the above post, my email friend Joan Andre wrote and sent me the following ... "To play the devil's advocate, perhaps God did not sin, only intended to wipe out his own creation that he was bored with.

Sorry, but I can't help but smile at some of your notes when they are "tongue in cheek" like this. I know there is also the underlying serious note."

PROGRESS

Isn't it odd that we should take a spasm, every now and then, and go spinning back into the dark ages once more, after having put in a world of time and money and work toiling up into the high lights of modern progress?

I remember a woman telling me many years ago that she had trouble controlling her strong urge to throw her baby down a flight of stairs.

She was living with her in laws in tight quarters in a home where privacy was basically nonexistent.

Her husband wanted sex at every turn and the springs under the mattress would squeak, allowing others in the home to know exactly when they having sex.

Her father-in-law and her husband and brother were laborers that had to get up early each morning and work hard all day.

The baby that resulted from the sex would not stop crying and crying and crying, making the woman totally unable to control the situation.

If you want to know why women kill their children, I suggest you ask them, and maybe if you don't show harsh judgment, they will tell you that they simply lost control over their emotions, and once the act was complete, it was too late to turn back.

PROPHECY

A prophet doesn't have to have any brains. They are good to have, of course, for the ordinary exigencies of life, but they are no use in professional work. It is the restfulest vocation there is. When the spirit of prophecy comes upon you, you merely cake your intellect and lay it off in a cool place for a rest, and unship your jaw and leave it alone; it will work itself: the result is Prophecy.

PROPHECY

A man who goes around with a prophecy-gun ought never to get discouraged: if he will keep up his heart and fire at everything he sees, he is bound to hit something by and by.

PROPHECY

The dreams are all right enough, but the art of interpreting is lost. 1500 yr ago they were getting to do it so badly it was considered better to depend on chicken-guts & other naturally intelligent sources of prophecy, recognizing that when guts can't prophecy, it is no use for Ezekiel to go into the business. Prophecy went out with the chicken guts.

Nostradamus became famous, not for what he knew, but for those he could fool.
>>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>

The quatrains, published in a book titled Les Propheties (The Prophecies), received a mixed reaction when they were published. Some people thought Nostradamus was a servant of evil, a fake, or insane, while many of the elite thought his quatrains were spiritually-inspired prophecies.[citation needed] In the light of their post-Biblical sources (see under Nostradamus' sources below), Nostradamus himself encouraged this belief. Catherine de' Medici, wife of King Henry II of France, was one of Nostradamus' greatest admirers. After reading his almanacs for 1555, which hinted at unnamed threats to the royal family, she summoned him to Paris to explain them and to draw up horoscopes for her children. At the time, he feared that he would be beheaded,[29] but by the time of his death in 1566, Queen Catherine had made him Counselor and Physician-in-Ordinary to her son, the young King Charles IX of France.

"Prophets" that impressed royalty, reaped big rewards.

Final years and death

By 1566, Nostradamus's gout, which had plagued him painfully for many years and made movement very difficult, turned into edema, or dropsy. In late June he summoned his lawyer to draw up an extensive will bequeathing his property plus 3,444 crowns (around $300,000 US today), minus a few debts, to his wife pending her remarriage, in trust for her sons pending their twenty-fifth birthdays and her daughters pending their marriages.
