“Pharmacists must seek to raise people's awareness so that all human beings are protected from conception to natural death, and so that medicines truly play a therapeutic role”

Pope Benedict XVI said Monday that pharmacists have a right to use conscientious objection to avoid dispensing emergency contraception or euthanasia drugs - and told them they should also inform patients of the ... via Fables of the reconstruction

An eldery woman told of how her cat that had never attacked another human in its life, attacked and scratched a burgler that ran from the premises to escape the cat.

From my perception, that cat was fully aware of its choices.

Could it be that those labeled as sociopaths simply lack the brain cell that exist in others who do feel empathy?

And if the specific brain-"cell" is performing the function ... it seems to me that we shouldn't be taking any credit for our own feelings of empathy, as without the cell the von Economo neuron, or VEN, we wouldn't have any empathy whatsoever.

Are monkeys self-aware? Scientists discover brain cells 'linked to self-awareness and empathy in humans'

Within that region lies a unique brain cell - the von Economo neuron, or VEN - which seems to lie at the heart of our consciousness - helping us feel those feelings which give life meaning, from love and confidence, to hate and embarrassment.

Maybe humans don't recognize lies because human greed gets in the way.

For instance, a theologian gives a spiel about salvation, and humans so much WANT to believe they are special, they fall for the spiel of the theologian.

It's my guess that cats, because of not relating to religious-dogma, only perceive the intentions of humans.

Ink asked me recently if I want to go to hell?
If she had asked me if I wanted to go to heaven, I would have asked her how she thought I could accomplish that mission.
My guess is, she would have then told me that putting my complete faith in Jesus would save me from all harm in the afterlife, including avoiding hell, as belief in Jesus as my savior would assure me of the straight and "narrow" path to heaven.
RIGHT Ink???
And then she would, as usual, go on to state that God loves everybody!
Ridiculous blather!
Why would I ask a question that I already know the answer to?

And of course if the same cell in our body can make us feel hate and embarrassment ... are we simply robots driven by the energy of cells???

Are you kidding???

Most people attach a "god" to their death experiences. And a few attach a devil to their experiences. THAT is religion.

Very few explain the death experience as simply being energy of nature.

It's always how they saw Jesus or god, or Hindu or Muslim deities, etc.... or their deceased loved ones.

Silly fool.

You believe I will go to hell and you will go to heaven ... but your belief is not the be-all and end-all of beliefs. It's just you entertaining your fancies.

Some people use such energy by masturbating.

And you spend just as much wasted energy telling other people what they believe and how they think. I don't think any of us think about you per se at all. I know I don't.

I'm very happy that you are content with you life as it is with no interest in things of a spiritual nature.

Ink feels better about herself using the word "spiritual" rather than religion.

Yet she relies on her bible for her spiritual "guidance" of believing that I will go to hell and she will go to heaven.

When heaven and hell became spiritual rather than religious is another one of those myteries that only "god" knows.

I wonder if there are cells that cause moods of sadism in humans.

Surely those who watched others burning at the stake while begging for mercy were not responsible for those moods ... were they???

Surely those that picture others burning in hell in a hereafter, while they picture themselves on the "right" hand of a god, aren't responsible ... ARE they???

Sarcasm intended.

You are the one that has told me what you believe and what you think.

I just respond to your posts with what I believe and think.

You mentioned that I believe I was born, I suffer, and I die.

You forgot to mention that I also enjoy what I believe is enjoyable ... and that it's not your religion.

Most books written about death experiences, were done so by those in religion.

Concerning the death experiences, I appreciate what Sam Parnia is studying, as he will not be bullied by those in religion to put religious connotations on the studies.

If we deserve funerals ... how much more do the cells that keep us alive and govern our moods ... at least to a certain degree deserve such accolades?

When, at a funeral or a memorial, do we ever here ... "Those cells that kept George alive and in such a good mood were really something ... weren't they?"

My guess is, you won't hear it, cause it ain't gonna happen.

People that know they are dying often want to believe that the "god" of their dreams is only of the character of love. It makes their emotions all warm and fuzzy.

But before that, many of them chose to believe that the god was in deed a god that could either love or punish ... as the mood hit "him."

Some believe in a God that sees us as bad and unlovable. But many at the edge of life find a God that loves us unconditionally, that sees us as guiltless.
