In Columbus, Ohio, this past August, I had a very different experience from the one detailed in a recent HuffPost blog in which Joel Diaz describes the positive experience of witnessing fellow customers and staff at a pizza restaurant come to his defense when an anti-gay customer began harassing him and his friend Ethan for holding hands while waiting in line.(more)

Columbus is probably the friendliest of gay cities in Ohio. I have never had a problem there. They'll hate you more for being a Michigan fan than they would for being gay.

Why do queers engage in disgusting behavior in public then scream gay-bashing when a normal decent person complains.

It's not common for couples to hold hands?

What odd place to you live in? I suspect you need to get out more.

Unfortunately, this one demonstrates the irrational prejudice described in the article remains strong in many people and places. But, yes, getting out more might help, though opening a door does not always open the mind as well.

Not just there.

He's SO strange, wanting to drive people apart rather than trying to bring them together.

Not two men. I never see men holding hands and if I do believe me I'm going to tell them to stop mo-ing off in public!
People are tired of this homosexual BS!
I am really going to kind of enjoy breaking this to you buttercup, but what we are seeing more and more of, despite stories of heterosexuals acting like intolerable asses in public such as this, is that what people are actually tired of is assh*les like you acting out in public. It's the reason your gay bashing is limited to your childish rants from behind the hoped for anonymity of your proxy server on here. You know deep down that if you actually behaved this way in public you would be lucky to just be verbally rebuked and spoken to like a fool on a fairly regular basis. Your obvious "issues" with our mo-ing off in public sweetie, they are no longer our problem.

There, fixed that for you. You're welcome.
