I can. I don't know any gay folks with AIDS, at least as far as I know. It's not the first thing you ask folks at church, at work, in the grocery line, or over the back yard fence.

And as to whether or not straight people know people who have died from AIDS, that might depend on which country you live in. I believe some African countries have had their heterosexual populations decimated by it.

You see, AIDS doesn't discriminate based on sexual orientation, or race. And as long as a person is safe and careful with how they have sex and whom they have it with, they are unlikely to contract it, regardless of orientation.

no, i did not know what they were, i just googled it. of course it has to do with aids and of course you would know what they are and of course you all know people who have aids/hiv. i do not know anyone with aids and i have never met anyone with aids. i ask because gay people always try and say aids is a straight disease, yet most everyday straight people dont know anyone with aids...how many gays can say they dont know anyone with aids?
And YER point would be?

I guess since you are one of the blessed heteros you are immune to HIV and so are all your straight friends and relatives. Good for YOU! You ought to donate your precious immune blood to be used as serum for the sick, and maybe for Communion at Mass, since you are so clean and holy.

I had to look Rancho Cordova up, for I had not heard of it before. Right smack in Sacramento, huh? Yeah, that is such a tiny town, so far removed from society, how could you POSSIBLY know anyone with HIV?

I got news for you, bright eyes, you DO know a hetero with HIV. He or she may work at your bank, at your place of employment, or served you Sunday dinner at The Waterboy or Ella Dining, or be related to you. There are over 5000 HIV positive people in the Sacramento area. Not all are LGBT.

If they are not OUT with you, can one BLAME them, considering your out of touch attitude which would have been popular in 1982 or so?

I had a Persian cat that died from FIV, also known as cat AIDS. And I assure you he was definitely straight, all the kittens in the area were fluffy like him.

DOMA is effectively dead.

Many people now mistakenly believe that all federal benefits given to legally married str8 couples will now be accorded to legally married gay and lesbian couples.

Unfortunately, this is STILL not true, because, in many cases, federal law SPECIFICALLY STATES that a couple is considered married BASED UPON their state of residence.

So if a gay or lesbian couple marries in New York, but resides just across the river in Jersey, simply because of that, the federal government may still NOT provide equal benefits because Jersey UNCONSTITUTIONALLY REFUSES to legally recognize that valid New York marriage.

This is why the U.S. Constitution's "Full Faith and Credit" clause and the U.S. Constitution's "Supremacy" clause MUST be applied to ALL marriage sin the U.S.

.
We won't know that until the IRS or other agencies come out with a rule as to whether it is where you reside, or where you were married.

We already have examples of the federal laws being interpreted to recognize equality regardless of the state the couple lives in. http://m.kcci.com/politics/govt-will-review-i... discusses how same-sex couples are being treated equally for immigration and visa purposes. It states that one of the first cases to go through is a Florida same-sex couple who married in New York. Has Florida secretly changed their laws to recognize same-sex marriages?

Expect the GOPasaurs to attempt to pass a bill requiring all federal agencies to use the state of residence as the determining factor.

Of course it stands no chance of passing the Senate, but they'll try anyways.

They'll also try to impeach Obama over this as well, and fail as well.

Let the games begin!

I think of those yearly news videos of stupid houses built on scenic cliffs and when the rains come, the fancy house slides into the abyss. Our repub pals are out at the front porch, puttering with a new pot of flowers, brought home to make the house look pretty, as the rest of it slides into oblivion and ruin.

Considering that's what they were elected to address, I think this is the perfect place to ask that question. They are tinkering with everything else, and forgetting why they were elected in the first place. And it had nothing to do with Marriage Equality or DOMA.

Politicians are elected to govern according to everyone's needs, not just a specific need, this is an issue that effects people in the country, they are doing what they are suppose to do.

check out this poll:
Should gay marriage be legal in all 50 states?
Yes, it should 955(9%)
No, it should not 9,582(90%)
......
Funny, this Poll doesn't match the findings of just about any other poll. I wonder why?

And why in the world would there be a "backlash" against American families? Is your sort really that irrational as to believe that hurting other folks is worth fighting for?

Actually, the Ruling stated that DOMA was unconstitutional, not just that section. Read it.

However, removing all of DOMA does not force every state to allow same sex marriages, or recognize them. That would have required more. It simply removes one more stitch in the fabric of hatred and discrimination that so many states have built their bans on.

Read the ruling. Although it says that ONLY one section was at play in this case, it also CLEARLY states that DOMA itself is unconstitutional. Not just one section - DOMA itself.

That does not mean states are forced to marry gay folks, or recognize same sex marriages. But it did remove the federal "approval" for such bans.

For the moment it's up to each state.

Seeing the way the trend is going, can you really be this delusional?

And we marry in 12 states, legally. Soon to be more, and you know it.
