<quoted text>Fine, the law was not in accordance with the constitution, but it doesn't give you legality to change a 4000 year old definition. Call it what you want.......it's not marriage.
You may want to look up the history of marriage. For starters, the definition you use is not in the Bible.

You fail at being American, and I can see that further attempts to educate you on what the law actually is are probably futile.

Obama knows none of them will vote for him anyway.
Oh and here is the obligatory diversionary manifestation of Obama Derangement Syndrome.

Whenever a right wing loonie is losing an argument, or as is the case here, never had an argument to being with, it's time to post random bitching about Obama.

Uh, yes they do. That's why they ruled on the Constitutionality of the law. It doesn't matter if even 99% of the people voted in its favor, it can still be overturned.

The definition of marriage has never been a constant and the "laws of nature" show that even animals exhibit homosexual behavior.

Public opinion <> an election and in this case (as I pointed out to you earlier) public opinion is NOT in your favor.

Equal proteection under the law IS in the constitution, in the 14th amendment, and the states are bound by that to a certain extent. They cannot pass a law - about marriage or anything else - that violates equal proteection.
Banning gay marriage violates equal protection. That was not the central issue of THIS case, but the dominoes are falling.
You've already lost this argument, in actual court, and in the court of public opinion.
Marriage is a STATE issue. That's what SCOTUS SAID. You only have 46 more of the states to go out Obama's 58.

I could care less about DOMA. It was a liberal law that Obama signed. Argue with your boy toy Clinton. It didn't give you the right to federally change the definition of Marriage.

Yes it has. Prove me wrong. Animals are not humans and the rarity of gay actions in animals is even less that the 2% of you that are gay.

Public opinion can be an election, but public opinion doesn't have the ability to change laws or politicians without an election.

You're not getting it.

State laws have to comport with due process and equal protection as set forth in the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

They get to make the laws on marriage, but those laws have to meet constitutional muster.

So, like your inexcusable ignorance of basic Ameican civics, you don't seem to really understand the court's ruling either.

Yes, it is a state issue, but they are still subject to certain parts of the Federal Constitution.

Polygamy is legal and practiced in some countries. Age of consent has changed over the years. The grounds for establishment of a common-law marriage has changed. Divorce used to be illegal. Child support did not exist. Wives and children used to be considered "chattel", little more than property. Etc.

Shall I go on proving you wrong, or is this enough?

Wrong again.

Do you really even have any idea how our system of government works?

I was talking about the Supremes dear, the first time the b*tch slapped California for voting away other folk's rights was about 50 years ago now. They've done it a couple of times since.

The states still have to conform to federal law.
<quoted text>It is in 38 States.
Wow, the link I gave you showed a majority in 22 states (leaving 28 not in a full majority). However, if you go looking through the links of the ones near 50% you'll see the voters NOT in favor is a lower percentage (undecideds make up the rest). Again, you're NOT in the majority.
<quoted text>I could care less about DOMA. It was a liberal law that Obama signed. Argue with your boy toy Clinton. It didn't give you the right to federally change the definition of Marriage.
First, I've never voted for a Republican OR Democrat for a national election. Second, there was never really any definition of marriage. Look up its history and you'll see it has more than one.
<quoted text>Yes it has. Prove me wrong.
Your own Bible says nothing about it being one man and one woman. Adam and Eve never married and more than one person had multiple wives. Try reading it sometime.
Animals are not humans and the rarity of gay actions in animals is even less that the 2% of you that are gay.
Where'd you get that figure from? It really doesn't matter how often it happens, just that it happens is enough.
