To Lezgetreal:

Quoting something that sounds like baby talk or a stereotype isn't helpful to our cause.

Surely you could have found a much better quote to use for such a serious issue.

It's a Princess Bride quote, a very popular movie in the 90s(?), even I loved that movie, in the scene being quoted the princess was being forced to marry someone she did not love, it's actually relevant and quite clever. The priest had a lisp, in which he pronounced words like that, and that lines is specific to the movie. ;)

Don't get too offended, I think that movie is actually one of those all inclusive ones that bigots hate, considering the characters were ... colorful, in so many ways. You should see it.

I've seen it and like it a lot.

I just don't think Lez Get Real was being that helpful quoting someone with a lisp.

They are usually much better at fighting stereotypes.

At Equality Maryland we have worked hard for years for just this day and you helped us get here. As we stand amidst the making of history we turn towards every person who voted for question 6 – for equality – for fairness – for families and we say “Thank You.”

We know there is still much work to be done to ensure that discrimination against people because of who they are or they love is a thing for the history books. We also know that Marylanders are ready for the challenge. We proved it on November 6th. We prove it by standing tall amidst the tides of change and by looking towards a future where our diversity is our greatest strength.

Thank you for continuing to stay for us and for Maryland,

I can't believe I'm going to have to say this, but compare the contexts. It's relevant, very relevant, and almost the exact same story really, just in real life it's two people of the same gender instead of a princess and a farm boy.
