Wallace was a communist. That's why FDR replaced him on the ticket with Truman. Actually, I don't think he should've dropped John Nance Garner from the ticket.

Wallace was not a communist, but he understood the history of power being concentrated in the hands of a few at the expense of the rest, and how prejudice was used to facilitate that.

No matter what you think of the man, the words remain true. Prejudice is a tool used to control others for personal power and benefit.
