Referring to several women as your wives isn't illegal--trying to hold concurrent marriage licenses is,
Hmmmmmm.....there are anti cohabitation laws on the books in several states..... and Utah has anti polygamy laws on the books....does it not?
or pretending that a non-licensed spouse is licensed in legal or business matters is--it's called fraud.
Yet "non licensed spouses" can still enter into non marital legal contracts. "Non licensed spouses" can still beget children together, and are legally obligated to care for them. "Non legal spouses" can own property together.

Cohabitation laws are in effect whether you have a "spiritual [snicker] spouse" or not.

Entering into a contract with a married person creates a shared obligation; entering into a contract with two non-married people makes the two individually and seperately liable.

Having kids requires no legal connection and is not a requirement of marriage.

Hmmmmm......does that apply to two pods in a pea?

Oh like when Mrs Brown did with Kody Brown who was married to Mrs. Brown?
entering into a contract with two non-married people makes the two individually and seperately liable.
I suppose that depends on the type of contract.
Having kids requires no legal connection and is not a requirement of marriage.
It is the by product of consummation, and marital relations. Perhaps even why marriage exists as a privileged union in the first place.

There's only one legal mrs brown. His other concubines can pretend to be one as well, but they cannot expect legal protections.

"Concubines"? Rather harsh. As far as Kody his concerned, they are also his wives, besides they have the protection of God.

Cpeter is as ignorant and bigoted as they come. He thinks his ignorance and bigotry is OK for some reason. Maybe the gay card.
