Of course! It must have been the two lesbians....you know the pair... one wore a tuxedo the other a wedding dress for the ceremony...that's what threw me off.<quoted text>
No gay couple is trying to be just like a "husband and wife". You seem a little confused. But don't worry.
EACH gay person entering a marriage with another gay person of the same gender is absolutely unique, and brings their own strengths, weaknesses, and personality traits to the marriage.
As does the gay or bisexual person who marries someone of the opposite sex.
It certainly adds to it as it also forms the foundation of their same sex attraction.Their gender is not what makes them special and unique individuals.
That one is the BIG ONE......remember one plus one equals three....or four...or five. Two go to bed, but three or more get up. Even gay kids have a Mom and Dad, and were conceived the old fashion way. Some actually grow up, call themselves "Quest", and try to argue there's no gender difference between men and women beyond their plumbing. But, the love is the same. The attraction is the same. The commitment is the same. The need for recognition is the same. The benefits and protections are the same. Their children benefit in the same way. Elderly gay married couples are more secure in the same way. Society benefits from their strong family in the same way.
Yep, it's a marriage all right!
Hmmmmm......its round, fits nicely on a bun, color seems the same, texture too, even has grill marks.....it must be a hamburger! Surprise! Its a veggie burger!
I asked my daughters about the non gender specific whole benefiting thing...if it differs between me and Mom (my wife) because of our gender....once they stopped laughing, they said "of course there's a difference you're a guy, and Mom's a girl.....where'd you get some crazy idea that there wasn't?.....besides how do u think we got here to begin with....Duh!". Ahhhhh....out of the mouths of babes.
Why don't you ask your Mom and Dad, if ya can, what they think of the whole no difference in gender as it relates to kids.
For ALL the same reasons, save one. And that has never and WILL never be a legal requirement for any marriage.
