right?
I don't know the percentage of gays. It's not just the gays. Did you see what happened when this things was waiting for and answer from the governor? 3 companies that would provide over 4 thousand jobs said they would not come here if that bill passed.
The NFL commission was seriously discussing how this would effect next years super bowl and should they change venues now.

It's not about how many gays there are it's about all the people that would support them, because of the discrimination.
If these businesses want to discriminate because of their religion then they can have private clubs where they can decide who can belong. I think they should also have to advertise NO GAYS in OUR CLUB.

Hobby Lobby pays for Viagra. Do you see any contradiction there?

The males sex life shouldn't have anything to do with work either but it does.

Over 50% could change quite a bit.

You see, one need not be gay to support gay rights, or equality under the law.

the reality is - EVERYONE discriminates. and nothing you can do will change that. it is part of our lives.

you either accept it, or forever be in turmoil.

No, not forever in turmoil, just vow to completely boycott any obvious self righteous and ILLEGAL actions by others trying to force their beliefs on others.

They should have kept the bill, many bigoted businesses would subsequently fail and rightly so.

No, everyone does not discriminate, and it says a lot about you that it's ok as long as 'everyone' else is doing it.

Everybody discriminates, but most of us have the God given sense not to make complete fools of ourselves when we do it. Certain acts of discrimination are in fact illegal, whether you agree with that law or not. Certain acts of discrimination are in fact perfectly legal. If you are in business, it pays to learn the difference.

what I told you about discrimination is so obvious, anybody with less then half a brain would agree with me.

if I told you that the way gravity works.. quote, "what goes up will come down". and then, somebody comes up to me and says otherwise.

what do you call that person? smart?

THAT person is YOU. lol.

You've obviously never operated a business. Even groups smaller than 2% of the population can make or break a business.

Wow, holy mackeral, you are beyond stupid if you really believe what you said. In fact if that were true, then why did so many object to this so called law, btw if the percentage of gays is only 2% then any moron would get arizona backed down because of people that don't discriminate but believe in equality for all

We need to wake up America. I was wondering if you knew why the military was teaming up with law enforcement in major cities doing wartime drills inside the city marching and patrolling, also having military helicopters flying over with soldiers hanging out like they were traing to attack these cities. Why is the military training Boy Scouts in combat training having them lay down in anthrax and other horrific stuff that's just like nazi Germany. I know what's coming the US is already a police state like the unconstitutional border patrols that's inside the US they are interrogating US citizens and doing illegal search and seizure, these border patrols Not at the border they are inside the US more and more are popping up, that's also what happened in nazi Germany.

the figure of 2% that I used came from a list of readings. it's not one that I just dug out of my mind like so many liberals do in their arguments.

do a google search, genius. and read. it might do you some good.

as for why Arizona backed down. correct me if I'm wrong. but didn't the decision come down to governor brewer's VETO that caused the bill to not pass?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arizona_SB_1062

their state legislature already APPROVED it. that means a MAJORITY of people in Arizona had already APPROVED it. if not for brewer's ONE veto, it would have passed.

frankly, I think governor brewer doesn't understand what she did. she THINKS she did something right. but she actually did something wrong. why do I say that?

consider this scenario.. nobody reallys knows who is gay unless somebody announces it. so, in an everyday situation, when a business serves people, businesses don't just go about telling people for no reason that they don't want to serve them.

..there must be some reason for their refusing to serve someone. RIGHT?

it usually comes down to someones BEHAVIOR. RIGHT?

gays in general think it's ok to run around naked. the fact that they say publicly that it is a non-issue tells you they condone the behavior.

so, now with this bill passing, gays who feel like walking into a restaurant NAKED and are then told to get out by the restaurant. well, brewer basically said those nude gays can sue the restaurant for discrimination.

so, let me ask you.. does that make sense?

think about it.

what happened as I see it is.. brewer thought this issue with the gays is similar to the issue of discrimination based on past issues that centered on color. in particular, blacks getting discriminated by whites. it is not.

gays come in all colors. and if they behaved like everybody else by wearing their clothes like "normal" people do when they go about the business of living life, nobody would know they were gay.

with the veto of the SB 1062 by governor brewer, what can and probably will happen more frequently is - you will have people walking around nude being kicked out of restaurants and THEN those naked people will say the business discriminated against them because they are gay.

get the picture?

frankly, I think most people would agree... ANYBODY who likes to walk around naked publicly is mentally demented. let me repeat.. gays say it is a NON-issue. don't believe me? talk to them.

The Legislature passed it, not the majority of Arizonans. It was not put to a vote to the people. This is a bill one person wrote, introduced and it was passed. It happens all the time, we just usually don't know about it.
People don't vote on every single bill, most people didn't even know about the bill until there was a problem and it hit the media.

That is how the state and federal govt. work.
NO the majority of Arizonans did not approve it.
Take a civics class and find out how the government works.

Jan Brewer is not the moron you paint her to be. She knows gays aren't black. The pressure was on her from companies who threatened to leave Arizona or not come at all. The financial fallout would have been huge. The pressure was on her from the citizens, oh and then there is that old constitution. Funny little piece of paper that basically says what these people wanted was illegal.
What they wanted was to be able to discriminate and not be sued for it.
Go figure. Next murderers will say we want the right not to be prosecuted.

So now you want everyone else to act like bigots like you? They have to dress like 'normal' people?
How about Christian kids who dress like the gothic fad?
How about Christian's who wear dirty t-shirts with outlines of naked women on them to match the mud flaps on their trucks (I saw on that said Jesus died for you, over the mats)
How about Christian women who wears dresses into a church that most strippers would think was a great work costume.
I'm sure those are all just fine since they 'call' themselves Christian.

Please tell us you are not the example of 'normal' people.

You just can't fix stupid.

Again, let the bigots have their law, it won't matter much for long because they will lose their business in a very short time and they will ruin the state as well.

Boy, you are even more stupid than I originally thought. I don't know where you hang out, but it have never seen gay people run around naked, much less go into businesses naked. Apparently you have no clue about the process of introducing a bill. If this bill was presented to the people make no mistake it would have been voted down. You should spend less time on forums and more time getting an education.
