Hebrews 13:17 ESV
Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Romans 13:1 ESV
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
Romans 13:1-5 ESV
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience.
Titus 3:1 ESV
Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,
It might be a good idea for all you homophobic religious folks to re-read Matt. 25:31-46 every day for a year. You may finally get the message!
Does "DNF" stand for "Did Not Finish", as in didn't finish 8th grade?

Article VI deals with public office, and none of what you posted renders private contracts voidable by virtue of sexual orientation.

But, hey, you got to use "homophobic" in s sentence, so I'm sure you feel good.

That makes them complicit in the abuse.
That hardly breaks any laws. The 14 year old's parents tried to stop it. They are in no way legally complicit. Kaitlin's parents aided and abetted the relationship in contrast.

<quoted text>The notion of same sex age of consent didn't become an issue until late in the 20th century. It wasn't an issue when these laws were first crafted back in the colonial era nor when they were revised by the children's rights movement. Age of consent was in sync with marriage age because of the social mores of the day. When you were 13-14 years-old, you were old enough to be married, which meant you were old enough to have sex. Preferably within a marriage.
As a side note, a lot of states didn't bother to change their minimum age marriage requirements when the age of consent was raised. Although they have strengthened parental consent provisions, there are still states where you can legally marry your way out of committing a serious felony on your wedding night.
Yeah, I've noted the changes. Usually for the better. New Hampshire still surprises me, though.

You're a stupid Queer. The courts said: no contact whatsoever with the 14 yr old or you will go to JAIL. What would you call that.
Legal when the other person is 17 or younger.

Did the 14 y/o's parents file for a restraining order before Kaitlyn turned 18 or are you simply trying to make up facts that don't exist again?

There is a huge difference between what happened here and what happened with the 4 y/o's who were molested by an adult.

Now explain why a man of 50 isn't a pedophile when he marries an 18 y/o!

You're really are stupid. Can't you get the facts in your head that Kaitlin was already 18 before the school year started and before they ever met??
The courts had a restraining order put against Kaitlin themselves, and she violated it. Now she's in jail.
You asked: why a man of 50 isn't a pedophile when he marries an 18 y/o!
Very simple lDlOT, an 18 yr old is of legal age to make up their own mind about what they want to do. Far cry from a 14 yr old.
I see you really were born stupid.
Roflmao
Problem is she was NOT 19 when they met.

I know how much you love to make stuff up, but they met BEFORE Kaitlyn turned 18.

The 14 y/o's parents never foiled for a restraining order.

If your cause is morally just then deception is not necessary to support or advance it.

Oh Fa Foxy. The wisdom you show on these boards is amazing. Like when you said people in Newfoundland Canada had a Constitutional right to carry a gun!

After she turned 18 yes then sex between them was illegal. Yes she should face the consequences.

But from what I have been told, unlike you, she is not a pedophile and does not deserve to become a registered sex offender for the rest of her life.

Kaitlyn Hunt, a cheerleader, started a relationship with a 15-year-old girl at the beginning of the school year. She was 17-years-old at the time. Once she turned 18, the parents of the other girl had Kaitlyn Hunt arrested. That arrest led to the Kaitlyn Hunt expulsion from high school.

From the first thread I saw on Topix about this:
Kaitlyn Hunt, a cheerleader, started a relationship with a 15-year-old girl at the beginning of the school year. She was 17-years-old at the time. Once she turned 18, the parents of the other girl had Kaitlyn Hunt arrested. That arrest led to the Kaitlyn Hunt expulsion from high school.

Yet even now major news sources are changing the ages.
Hunt played on the basketball team with her younger girlfriend and shared the same circle of friends, Hunt's mother, Kelley Hunt Smith, has said. The two had a consenting relationship that began soon after Kaitlyn Hunt turned 18, and Hunt Smith said she assumed the younger girl's parents knew that.

I have seen so many posts about the ages these two were when this began. And the ages change.
I watched the parents of the 14 y/o's original interview.

That link was at odds with the facts. It always pays to completely check out something before posting it. I have been burned a few times myself for posting things I read on the internet that turned out to be untrue.

That is correct. She has since turned 15, but was 14 when their relationship started. It was erroneously reported that she was 15 when the relationship started. Misinformation from Kaitlyn's family about just what was going on also served to distort the picture. Kaitlyn turned 18 in August 2012, shortly before the school year started.

Seem's both sets of parents have handled this situation horribly.....The victim's by even going to police, and placing this in the news...Imagine a 14 year old, bi-racial girl, now going to a highschool, where a popular older girl has now been jailed...Or, the mother of Kate, daring to go againest the Judge's orders, and begging the victim to erase evidence.....No wonder these kids are screwed up....
