Of course Republicans will be against this. I'm surprised that school allow bullying against ANY student period for any reason. Students should be protected from such and violence. They are the school board's responsibility when they are in school.

ummm.... Ileana Ros-Lehtinen who introduced teh bill is one of the most conservative REPUBLICANS in the House Of Representatives, and she has served in teh House since 1989. She is the MOST SENIOR REPUBLICAN WOMAN in teh House, is the first REPUBLICAN WOMAN elected to the House of Representatives from Florida. And she is the first Hispanic woman, and the first Cuban-American, to be elected to Congress.

From the article, "The politicians announced 118 cosponsors from both parties for bill." I am a Republican and I support the bill. Your declared prejudice/bigotry is noted and rejected as are you.

I'm glad some Republicans are finally coming on board but the majority of the time Republicans are against any sort of pro-gay legislation and I'm sure most of the LGBT and even straight community would agree with me so forgive my skepticism and that I'm not fond of most Republicans because they certainly haven't given me much reason to be fond of them. That doesn't make me an idiot and don't appreciate your childish name calling. I'm not the only gay or straight person on Topix or offline to assume that Republicans are anti-gay. There are truths to every stereotype but it seems more of a fact than a stereotype. I'm not going to vote for a party that's against me nor am I going to vote Libertian. Are you Frank by the way? Because if you are you weren't always so hostile toward me but actually tolerant that I had different views from yours. I think you are the type that gives gays a bad name. Bite me!

Sorry I don't keep up with politics as much as you especially on Republicans. You made a good point, she's a WOMAN. Women usually support equal rights for gays more than men, especially Republican men. She's probably more a fiscal conservative than a social conservative. I'm aware Ted Olson a socially/fiscally conservative Republican lawyer is fighting for equal marriage for gays. I do give that Republican and Ms. Ros-Lehtinen credit for that. They are the minority of Republicans though. The majority of them do not support any pro-gay rights/legislation.

There's a little invention called the "world wide web" that allows you to research topics and people. Perhaps you should avail yourself to this little-known (to you) resource before you so proudly display your ignorance again.

I know a lot but never claimed to know everything. I've known you and BS Detector for years. What's up with Republicans always being mean and name calling? Democrats are much nicer people and easier to get along with. You are always so hateful toward our president.

I don't need your Republican rhetoric. Apparently you haven't liked me for some time but kept it to yourself until now. At least BS Detector let me know how he felt about me from the start years ago. I've always overlooked and tolerated your hateful language toward Dems. You can't do the same when I have something to say about Republicans though. I'm not ignorant nor do I have time to read up on every single politician there is.

It will turn out to be just another law abused by the GLBT communities sexualizing children and disallowing childhoods free from perversion and decadence. It has been the GLBT people confusing some youngsters with drugs and then using them as battering rams of having extreme and deviant minorities directing the paths of schools.

How am I going to get into all those great gay circuit parties if I don't use children as battering rams to knock down the doors ?! Are you crazy ?! What's wrong with you ???

All I have to do is wait. To many Americans are just blow hards who when confronted will cave. A bullet to the skull of some will put everyone else in order. In Boston, everyone was in order over one criminal. Shut down the city and sung patriotic songs. I am no martyr. For the whistle blowers are crapped on here with no concern. Losing the real rights with the drapes of civil rights hiding it will eventually remove all of them. I will enjoy watching the national police state dealing with the general population as times decline. For they are already in most respects. No shortage of people willing to work for then either. And that is your tell tale truth. The golden truth. And that is a gold piece of knowledge I bestowed on you for free.
