Most conservative gays reject activist courts rewriting marriage law to shut down democratic legislative process. If you want to avoid backlash, let the people vote.
BTW, gays in Putin's Russia aren't treated like gays in the 37 states that describe marriage as male/female in law. Religious same sex marriage and gay rights speech is perfectly legal everywhere in the USA, not in Russia. Gays in Russia are more like Christians in Egypt than like gays in the USA.
Stand against the burning of churches and the imprisonment of gay rights leaders.

Speaking of that... Twenty years ago, I couldn't have imagined ANY political party nor mainstream religion spouting the chauvinist rhetoric that is simply conservative orthodoxy these days. Perhaps we are closer to re-establishing misogynist social institutions than you care to imagine.

Which societies are those? How about we tell the people who made the kids to take care of them?
What if their biological parents are dead? Shall we kill the children, too, so that their parents can raise them in heaven?

Or perhaps the parents are in jail. Perhaps we should let the kids live with their parents in that environment.

Or maybe the children have been removed from their biological parents' home because of neglect or abuse.

But according to Pietro, we should ALWAYS put the children back with their biological parents, no matter how much better environment their same-sex parents provide.

Hey Lyin' Brian! Have you got any sources for that bit of wisdom? Or should I say: wizzdumb?

Sure, you can find anecdotal evidence of a gay here or there who doesn't support marriage equality. But there are no organized groups--liberal, conservative, or independent.

What is the position of the Log Cabin Republicans on marriage equality? What is the position of GOProud? Name even one nationally recognized group of gays opposed to marriage equality.

Nonsense. You can't vote away people's fundamental rights bro. Besides, you will be in the minority with your voting.

"Fifty-two percent of respondents in a new Gallup Politics poll would support a law that would legalize same-sex marriage across all 50 U.S. states."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/31/gall...

The poll by Princeton Survey Research Associates questioned 1,003 adults from Thursday through Sunday. It has a margin of error of +/-3.6 percentage points.

Among the findings:

• By an unprecedented 55%-40%, Americans say marriages between same-sex couples should be recognized by law as valid, with the same rights of traditional marriage. That's the highest level of support since Gallup began asking the question in 1996. Then, fewer than half that number, 27%, backed the idea.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2...

Politically, most Democrats (63 percent) and independents (56 percent) favor legalization of same-sex marriage, while most Republicans (56 percent) do not. Still, support for same-sex marriage among Republicans has increased from just 13 percent in May 2012.

Of course. They'll all be indoctrinated to be gay by junior high. So naturally we wouldn't let boys shower with boys nor girls with girls.

GODDAMMIT but you people are friggin lazy.

How many times have I heard some version of this? Ship 'em here, ship 'em there! Russia! Uganda! Iran! A deserted island somewhere!

When does this START? When will you people get ON this? EVER?

Who will start the initiative? Which senator should propose this in Congress? Which National Guard unit will be deployed first? When will the first trucks start rounding up the gays? When do the first boats start hauling us away?

Let me tell you when all this will happen.

NEVER. Never, ever. Not today, not tomorrow, not 2014. Not 2114.

You people haven't taken a SINGLE STEP toward implementing this "idea". Not one.

Why do you all keep CALLING for it? Shut your lazy mouth, get off your lazy rear, and DO SOMETHING about it already! Don't expect someone ELSE to deport all the gays FOR you! Take action! Put your money where your mouth is! Stand up for the principles you believe in!

Or, continue doing nada. Bitch and whine about how you'd LIKE your fellow citizens to be mistreated and separated from you, but continue to do ZILCH about making it happen.

He's getting his insight as to what these cases say and mean from Maggie Gallagher. He's ripping off a blog she wrote. You know he hasn't bothered to check her work for accuracy and context. For instance, I'm pietro if Wondering knows that 2/3 of the Magster's sources about the constitutional wonder of the procreative union of man and wife are divorce cases?

We see this with California, but wait, you gays only got one gay judge to agree. The CSSC upheld Prop 8.
Polls clearly indicate that Prop 8 would lose if it came to the ballot today. Keep whining you make me laugh.
