Leviticus 18:22 - You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.
Leviticus 20:13 - If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their blood guiltiness is upon them.
Romans 1:26-27 - For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.
I Corinthians 6:9 (NIV)- Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
I Timothy 1:8-11 (NASB)- "But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted."
God condemns all homosexual behavior.
The god in your storybook condemns eating seafood and pork. Where's the outrage?

You're just plagiarizing nonsense from radical homosexual hate sites.
Do you know the meaning of plagiarism? Guess not.

SO, you're saying that the perfect word of the god in the old testament is subject to change? Under who's authority?

So "God" changed his mind..? I always thought He was perfect and infallible in his judgements.. Is it alright then to wear a polyester-cotton fabric, work on the Sabbath without being stoned to death and yes, sell your own daughter into slavery (Exodus 21.7..? And how much do you think could be asked for her nowadays? Prices must have fantastically appreciated since those barbaric times .. Do consult your local pastor or priest; you know.. those that now seem to have the monopoly on infallibility.. and let me know..

Yet the Catholic church continues to keep these names in their registries, falsely padding the numbers of Catholics. This effort is not intended to announce anything to God (who would have known from the beginning of time that they could not be properly counted among the baptized). Instead, this movement is to inform the CHURCH that they have lost followers.

Certainly, you must think this is a worthy goal. The church should not continue to count people among their flock, if God does not consider them members.

All you've said is, "No real (fill in the blank) opposes my opinion."

I officially left the church, as they committed fraud when they said that they stood for love and forgiveness, hence making any contracts I had with the church null and void. The one thing that they said they could not do is undo my baptism, which of course was made without my consent.

Apparently you've never read the parable of the wheat and the tare?
Funny.. I look and look for God's commands and all I find is some man's opinion.. But maybe you have access to wherever it is God resides and have direct divine information.. Do share it with us.. But not the same old biblical nonsense, please.. it all sounds much too human to pass muster..

yeah. They believe in a magic juju that they've done to your hypothetical "immortal soul". If you're the least bit superstitious (of course they condemn superstition), they've got you afraid of this indelible "seal of baptism" the violation of which, they'll tell you, will result in eternal torment of this hypothetically "immortal soul" in a hypothetical "eternal separation from god".

The Orthodox have a different spin on the deal.

Since God is everywhere and all loving, violation of the "seal of baptism" results in a state of damnation which makes the etewrnal presence and love of god excruciatingly painful.

Isn't it fun ! Their god gets to be all-loving AND eternally sadistic at the same time !

And it's all because their "all-powerful god" made your hypothetical "immortal soul" just that, immortal. Their "all-powerful god" is powerless to undo what he hypothetically did. So, oops! Eternal torment for you all because your "soul" with the "seal of baptism" put there without your permission is "immortal".

See why they're nuts?

Right, that's why they're making a point to publicly REJECT the nonsensical, invented commands of your nonsensical, invented, cruel, divisive, invisible commander, as translated by the cruel, greedy, misguided Catholic clergy. These people don't WANT to call themselves "real Catholics" anymore.

And for good reason. There's no purpose for your god to make commands against homosexual behavior. If you're a god who creates humans, and you create people who only feel sexual attraction to their own gender, then OF COURSE that's who they're going to want to be with. As the god who created them the way they are, you only create problems and confusion for them by condemning what you've created them to feel. In fact, if you are an all-powerful god and created everything, then there's really no problem that you didn't create or can't control.
Caleb wrote:

Sure, it anthropomorphizes your gods (a necessary step in any mythology) as a gardener, with "good" humans represented by a desirable wheat crop, and "bad" humans as the weeds (or "tares"). More immorality in the Bible, when it's examined closely enough.

The story presumes that an "enemy" has sown the weeds (rather than that the gardener might simply not have been as good at his job than he thought he was). Humans who reject God are said to have been "sown" by Satan.

But a regular human gardener can't know what his crop will be like ahead of time. A god HAS that advantage (or SHOULD have, if gods were real). He wouldn't be able to blame the results of his crop on "enemies", or on ANY unexpected cause. He's supposed to be all powerful, he planted everything, he controls everything, and he should be able to see the end-result of everything before even lifting a finger on his garden.

The story attempts to absolve God of having created "faulty" humans, so that he can blamelessly toss them into eternal fire. But really, it just exposes more of the feeble, human-created mythology of the Bible.

Your immoral book equates blind obedience with goodness, and thinking for oneself with badness. But these are false comparisons, which only serve to divide humanity, and to enslave people's minds to the control of the clergy. A real god should work harder to UNITE humanity, rather than handing some humans "reasons" to hate and fear other humans.

The very idea that a god would put his most important message into the hands of just a few humans, for THEM to disseminate to everyone else without question, is disgustingly immoral. People are getting TIRED of being told what to think by a clergy which CLAIMS the authority of the gods they've invented. It's inconsistent to talk about an all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving god that can't control his enemies, doesn't realize how his gardens are going to turn out in advance, and who keeps a list of which humans should be hated by other humans. It's nonsense.
