Diaz is a self serving disaster who should have been kicked out of office a long time ago.

He is being investigated again and this seems to be the norm for him.

His bible thumping voters deserve him .

"State Senator Ruben Diaz sent out one of his regular “What You Should Know” press releases to address the arrest of his campaign aide Clement Gardner for allegedly embezzling $75,000 from a charity founded by Mr. Diaz. Mr. Gardner’s arrest came after an FBI investigation into the charity, the Christian Community Benevolent Association. Mr. Diaz vehemently denied being involved in any wrongdoing"

Yes he is, which is a reflection on what Puerto Ricans consider a "Democrat" .
Putting aside his bigottry for the the gay community, he is rabidly anti-women and as bad as any GOP evangelical when it comes to a womans right to choose.
Anglo Democrats would never elect that pile of feces.

No different than moost "Miami" Cubans are "Republicans" .
Both political parties will become a memory when Hispanics run them.

"Government corruption, mismanagement, police misconduct, election fraud, theft and ethics violations seem to be standard operating procedure in city hall. Add Medicare fraud disproportionately committed by Cubans, these and other crimes cost American taxpayers billions. For over 30 years, the Cubans have been plundering South Florida because of America’s shortsighted, self-serving political policies and inept law enforcement."

I believe he has a daughter or niece or something who is a lesbian, and has publicly protested his stand on denying equality.

I forget that you are also from NY.
I do not know who is worse Ruben Diaz or his supporters.

I want nothing to do with "Dems" like this they are trash and the Dem party should treat Diaz for the bigot which he is . Not look the other way.

"Anti-Gay NY Sen. Ruben Diaz's lesbian granddaughter speaks out: "This fight is personal."

My grandfather, state Sen. Rev. Ruben Diaz, spoke about marriage equality on a Spanish radio station in April. He was joined on the airwaves by a priest who said, "Gay people are worthy of death."

Papa didn't say anything. I was shattered.

You miss the people in NY?

I live in Doral and plenty of seasonal "snow birds" and NY retirees so that goes a long way but I miss Bayside . Like you I ran from the cold.

AZ is to conservative for me and I need a beach.

Miami-dade was rated as worse run city in USA but Doral due to Yankee transplants is rated as one of nicest and well run.

Marco Rubio who you like = Miami-dade . A greater Republican farce is impossible to find.
