I thought they were married already.

and btw, a marriage is simply a promise between two people, sometimes made in private, sometimes made in public, to always be honest and faithful to one another in all things. That's all it is. That being said, why do so many str8s get upset when two gay men marry or two lesbians marry ? Their promise is to one another. Nobody else. So why do so many str8s get upset about that promise ?

For one because it's ridiculous. Secondly, they're getting benefits that should be reserved for real marriage. And thirdly and most disturbing, they are adopting children into these deviant lifestyles.

Judging from the two previous posts, obviously this person is in a mental institution. Or at least should be.

Republicans in this region closed all the mental institutions so they couldn't be put in one

Somewhere in your history you were able to learn tons of old school mythology; but then you hit a learning brick wall when the explosion of knowledge started snowballing

1. It's NOT "ridiculous". What IS ridiculous is fundies and you stomping your teeny little feetsies and throwing tantrums because two people want to be married.

2. It IS a "real marriage". Work on your own and keep your schnoz out of others'.

3. So you'd prefer kids languishing in foster care until they age out? That's pathetic, and very cold.

Although I have always been a fan of Elton John, since the early 70's, he cold have done a LOT for gay teens and others, if he had come out in the 70's, instead of marrying a woman, and then waiting so long to come out.. Just sayin......

That was a civil union (the functional equivalent to an engagement)

You aren't the only one that thought they were already married. I guess it makes sense, it wasn't legal to get married where they were, which sounds so dang stupid to say it's not legal for to people to get married.
Anyway... Good luck to the happy couple and their children!
