She may have a defective understanding of Catholic theology but she has a completely correct understanding of reality.

Methinks the catholic church is not the best source when evaluating issues related to sex. Their teachings are intrinsically disordered, to use the term they apply to topics in this "controversial" book.

Come on: "masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action...", or how about "gays should be respected but that homosexual acts are 'intrinsically disordered.'"

Yeah, that's right, teach kids that masturbation is gravely disordered. That's how to keep the confessional full. Will this group of aged, celibate men ever grow up?

I agree.

The deplorable "Catholic lifestyle", and it's constant promotion by some people to lure other people into it, ESPECIALLY children, IS "intriniscally disordered".

Such a tempest in a teapot! The book came out six years ago, in 2006, and I had never heard of it until today.

Accordingly, from my point of view, the Vatican's comments have done nothing put provided free publicity for a book it disdains, but one that I will now read.

That's what the "Friends Of Galileo & Copernicus" said.

:)

Speaking of Galileo, there's a transit of Venus tomorrow !(I've been an amateur astronomer for 40 years.:))

Uh, not really interested in what Nazis and child molesters have to say about morality. They can cry all they want about what is "defective" or "disordered"; those adjectives describe them to a degree that nearly had me burst out laughing.

Defective, indeed. Christ, they're scum.

Since the sister is so accepting of all forms of sexuality, I would love to see her in a reality show where she and a bunch of other nuns kidnap the pope, strip him naked, whip him, brand his ass with a swastika and then beat him with rulers till he kicks the bucket.

My father, and his older brother, both converted from Catholicism to Lutheranism when they married. Both my family and my uncle's family were all raised Lutheran.

My sister converted from Lutheranism to Roman Catholicism. I haven't spoken to her since and never shall again.
