Did the disgusting vermin in here calling for the death of respected and learned Supreme Court Justices see the Interview with Justice Elena Kagen where she told of the "collegial" (her term) relationship enjoyed by the Justices, and how she sought out the dastardly Justice Scalia to take her on a hunting trip where she shot a deer. Justice Ginzburg and that same dastardly Justice Scalia enjoy being supernumaries at the Opera together.
Maybe they are unaware how horrible their fellow justices are. Or maybe they know something that the usual hate filled disgusting morons in here don't.
Hey, he likes smoking cigarettes and cigars. All I said was that I hope he continues enjoying them. Lots of them. ;-)

Seriously though, while I understand that the general pattern of collegiality remains on the court, and that Scalia and Ginsburg have long been friends, and Scalia and Breyer enjoy occasional informal debates, I have my doubts about there being any genuine love lost between Scalia and Kennedy.

As Mark Twain may have said: "I have never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituaries with great pleasure." I concur.

In the early 1980s I was breaking a destroyer load of regs by sitting in the window seat of the gay bar on the main drag of my hometown. Just catching up on some case notes in files that never should have left the installation (not that there was any actually sensitive data in them, but ...).

I heard a very serious bit of horsepower just down the street and looked up. Coming down the street was a WWII tank piloted by some topless dykes, a giant condom over the barrel.

I really had had only ONE drink, but thought that I was hallucinating. They made quite a stir.

These sisters had bought it at auction and reworked it to run on tires instead of treads, and were using it as part of WWII reenactment fun.

I want one as a PRIDE parade centerpiece for our LGBT troops to march with.

(btw: Reenactment Societies are loads of fun. More of our brothers and sisters should get involved.)

In The War Between The States, where was the western-most battle fought ?

(And they have reenactments at the site each year, frequently with more reenactors participating than the actual number of soldiers who participated in the real battle).

The Smithsonian !!!

There are SO many different groups that I can think of from museums to history groups to even somebody in the Watch/Clock making society.

Why would you EVER think of letting it go? Having some hard times?

"He supposedly was a firearms expert and a safety instructor also."

I admit it; I snickered.

Why the hell would he be allowed a TANK in a residential area?

And if he was a safety expert, how much more dangerous are guns in less-educated hands?

For all you people who HATE Scalia, he WAS the deciding vote IN OUR FAVOR on the Prop 8 case.

Moderate Kennedy & LIBERAL Sotomayor voted AGAINST us.

What do you have to say about THAT ???

Thanks. You don't know what you are talking about and never did. Voting is a right enumerated in the Constitution. If SCOTUS had actually followed the Constitution, they would have disqualified Florida in the Bush/Gore election by restriction of their delegates.

Who knows was goes on behind closed doors in the SCOTOUS. That said, I think it is possible that the conservative judges, had they given ProtectMarriage standing, might have concluded that the liberal judges + Kennedy would have ruled that denying s-s couples marriage was unconstitutional, and upheld the 9th Circuit's ruling. So they went with the safer option in order to limit the "damage," as did some of the liberal judges. Why did some liberal judges go along with Roberts and Scalia? Probably to assure that at least California would be back in the marriage column. Just a guess. I wish Sotomayor had written a dissent.
