GOOD! I hope they put him a cell with Cletus and his 10 inch bratwurst.

He is a criminal and deserves to do hard time, as does the criminal kidnapper.

Agreed. Then he should also face additional charges.

I'm sure he'll try to use parts of the Bible to defend himself, claiming he answers to a 'higher law'. Thing is the Bible, in both Old and New Testaments specifically instructs us to obey secular laws.

It's in Lev. 19. But of course the only parts of Lev. most Christians know are the dietary laws and the hammer verses about same sex activity. They don't really care to know or follow the rest of "God's Laws".

The bible commands you to obey the civil law. (Which means our American Revoltionary War directly violated the that particular biblical command.)

I don't understand why Miller faces only 3 years in prison for his part in an international kidnapping. He should definitely be held in contempt until he testifies, or until his sentence on his existing conviction begins.

are you sure about that secular law stuff?
Acts 5:29
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

apparently peter and the apostles were confused about that.

Acts 4:19
But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

There is NO Right of refusal to answer questioning in a Grand Jury Investigation except respecting Self-Incrimination.

Dear heavenly Father, I pray that you will take care of Pastor Miller's family while he is in prison. Please open up opportunities for him to serve you and help the prisoners seek salvation as he lives among them. Encourage him and lift him up. And please, Lord, continue to be with Lisa and her daughter. Bless them and protect them as they strive to do your will. Please open up opportunities for them to be a witness to your power and grace as well. Thank you so much for all you have already done for them and for providing the people who have helped them. I pray that the lives of all of these people can be used as a testament to you, showing the way to live lives that are pleasing in your sight. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Actually, there is. The Fifth Amendment guarantees you the RIGHT not to speak to ANYONE at ANYTIME, whether they be an agent of the government or not.

If ANYONE speaks to you at anytime about anything, you are under no obligation; legal, moral, or otherwise, to asnwer. That's an intrinsic part of living in the U.S., whether you are a citizen or not.

Titus 3; Hebrews 13:17; Romans 6:16;

Rom 13:1,3-4,6 (NIV) Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established... Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God's servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing... This is why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time to governing.

1 Pet 2:13-14 (NIV) Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right.

Careful there 'Chance'. You're disobeying the word of God. We are instructed to obey civil authorities. The verses about this outnumber the few that people like you use to be disobedient. There are dozens on both O.T. and N.T.

What's really funny is there are several right around the verses the anti-gays use from Leviticus. I found them thanks to David Moore a.k.a. goatboy of 10,000 screen-names from Pekin IL. There's a few in Deuteronomy as well.

Please Lord, deliver chance and his family into the hands of pedophile priests and serial killers, and let their bodies be harvested for parts so that they could actually do something useful on earth instead or defending kdnappers and their abettors.

You get to pray for felonies, so does everyone else.

No, that would be wrong. The 5th amendment only covers self-incrimination in certain circumstances. He's already admitted to his actions; he is refusing to incriminate others, which is OT so covered. Also, when interrogated by the police, yo0u are required to give basic information concerning identity; withholding it is a crime.
