Oh, please, Helen Keller would have know that Liberace was gay. I feel sorry for him, that he had to hide, but it was the uptight times he lived in that drove him to hide.

I saw his stage show in Las Vegas in 1982 or so and Scott drove him out on stage in a mirror covered Rolls Royce. He even asked everyone to ooh and ahh over Scott. No one did NOT figure out what was up.

BTW,he put on the BEST show I have ever seen, even "flying" over the audience on a harness.

I am sorry they closed the Liberace museum - it was very interesting. What was most impressive was the enormous weight of the costumes he was wearing in his final performing days while he was deathly ill with AIDS.

It's a double negative, Cletus. It is used to make a positive statement by using two negatives, usually in an ironic way. Gee, grammar shock or something?

It wasn't so great the day I went, suffering a major hangover from some fine whoopie the night before, the worst part was that everything was SHINY and had bright jewels and mirrors and other dizzying pieces.

We had gone to Hoover Dam earlier and that was worse, under 500 feet of cement and 20 miles of lake, all pushing down on my head. I no longer find that sort of drinking amusing, but it was over 20 years ago.

I did, it was "perfect continuous conditional" of the verb...an unspoken "but" is in the sentence.

"Helen Keller would have known Liberace was gay,(but she was blind and deaf)." Once again, used in ironical situations, assuming the reader understood that Helen Keller WAS blind and deaf. Next time I'll include foot notes to clarify the things that so obviously confuse you.
