Where did your parents vacation in Jamaica? THAT would be the more important question, as in EVERY country, there are good and bad places!

This still doesn't give you any say about Jamaica nonetheless. It also isn't clear why your parents didn't like Jamaica...it could be as simple as not liking the resort they stayed at, or the quality of the food they got from their all-inclusive hotel...you haven't really said why your parents didn't like Jamaica, and I'm pretty sure that that reason had NOTHING to do with homophobia, otherwise, if they were so offended by the probability of coming across homophobia in Jamaica, no matter how little, they would NEVER have gone there, so obviously, there was something that appealed to your parents to go to Jamaica.

Now...let's not forget where you and your parents live, Fa-Foxy...if homophobia disgusted your parents, then they did themselves a disservice by residing in America! Don't act as if there aren't acts of homophobia that occur in America en masse...aren't you one of the posters that are still appealing for equal marriage rights for same-sex couples in America??? RIGHT! And that's just the tip of the iceberg in America, so let's not get into trading link for link where it comes to homophobia in Jamaica versus America...the likelihood is that in the end, I would have embarrassed you in exposing how bad America is, and, were it not for the fact that Jamaica does not sanction same-sex marriage, you'd be on the next plane there, after I open your eyes to the country you are currently proud to call your own!

Remember that next time you drink a beverage out of an aluminum can, or if you see somebody else drink a beverage out of an aluminum can in America, Fa-Foxy...THAT is what Jamaica is known for across America, as it seems as if it is cheaper to get bauxite from Jamaica, then to extract bauxite from America, as in America, many Americans would want exorbitant amounts of money to mine the bauxite deposits in America, and even if the money was offered to Americans to do this type of work, most American would not even take the work. Says A LOT about Americans, huh Fa-Foxy? Suppose that is why Jamaican bauxite is quite popular with America...oh, you didn't know???

Same thing I hope for also...would love to see a Democratic Latino President in 2020...would also love to see the naturalization of millions of Latinos (namely Mexicans) in America...parts of America basically belong to Mexico anyways, that was illegally taken from Mexico, because American pilgrims violated the treaty that they had with Mexicans in the territories that Mexico previously occupied that now is part of America.

And what happened to NAFTA, wherein there was supposed to be free, unrestricted, documented travel between Canada, America and Mexico??? Why aren't Mexicans being given the right to work legally in Canada and America right now? Arrogant White North American attitudes for real, RalphB!

Jamaica has had one of the highest murder rates in the world for many years, according to UN estimates. Some areas of Jamaica, particularly cities such as Kingston, experience high levels of crime and violence. Many Jamaicans are hostile toward LGBT and intersex people. Various mob attacks against gay people have been reported, prompting human-rights groups to call Jamaica "the most homophobic place on earth."

You read too many bigoted links in reference to Jamaica, so it seems as if you need help in clearing up some often relayed fallacies that are often circulated about Jamaica and Jamaicans.

1. Jamaica does not have one of the highest murder rates in the world. As a matter of fact, I'm betting that Jamaica wouldn't even be in the top 50 countries on this planet. Now, had you said that Jamaica has one of the highest PER CAPITA murder rates in the world, then yourself, and your ill-informed, bigoted sources would be more on point. Maybe you should read up on what the UN has to say about murder rates and PER CAPITA murder rates when you actually read what the UN website has to say about murder rates and PER CAPITA murder rates across the world, Dub-Dub!

2. In most every country on the planet, there are high levels of crime and violence, Dub-Dub. In more populated areas, you are bound to find larger incidences of crime and violence, as individuals are exposed to more strangers. You have pointed out Kingston as a place of crime and violence as an example; I counter with Oakland, Philadelphia, Toronto, Seattle, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, New York, Los Angeles, Houston, New Orleans, London (England), Miami, Chicago...need I continue on?

3. Just like crime and violence, ignorance and bigotry exists ALL ACROSS the world, INCLUDING in your back yard! You are quite apathetic, and have become an ignorant bigot yourself. You fail to acknowledge the rampant bigotry and ignorance meted against the LGBT community in your nation, while you figure that the same ignorance that prevails in your nation is something that plagues Jamaica, and is to a degree where LGBT people in Jamaica are being lynched and killed via homophobic acts on an hourly basis. This is far from the truth, and as a matter of fact, if I were to actually get your attention on the matter, and have you read up on many incidents where LGBT people have been attacked or killed, only an idiot would come to the conclusion that most/all of the attacks and killings of LGBT people in Jamaica were centred around homophobic attacks. The reality is that only 5 to 10% of attacks against LGBT people in Jamaica are committed by heterosexual people, as the rest of the attacks against LGBT people in Jamaica are committed by LGBT people in Jamaica...but don't take my word for it, take the word of an experienced Scotland Yard police officer, with years of experience in the law enforcement field, and came to Jamaica as a foreigner to investigate many cases in Jamaica for almost a decade...

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/Gay-lobby...

Helps to know THE FACTS, Dub-Dub, but you don't want facts, you want to live in bliss and continue to spew fallacies that are circulated by propagandists in your circle of bigoted LGBT activists. I can even see by THIS article that is the basis of this thread, that the 'Advocate' didn't even get that story right, and I'm almost guaranteeing that their source was J-FLAG...shame, shame, shame! Just horrible journalism by all of those sources!

And you ask what the LGBT people are doing in Jamaica, specifically the poor LGBT Jamaicans?

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/news/JFLAG-hit...

This is why other countries and human rights groups don't take the threat of LGBT persons in Jamaica seriously!

This is from your "source" (a Jamaican "news" site):

"However, Lewis maintained that the homeless group of gays, which numbers about 20, have little choice as they have been chased from their communities, abandoned by their families, and face harsh treatment from the general public."

Sounds like your "source" backs up claims of Jamaica as the Land of Bigots. If it's so great, why don't you move down there with the self appointed mayor? I bet you two could become roommates!

Shows you how much you know about Jamaica, Dub-Dub...mayors in Jamaica are nominated by their respective parish councils, and then the councillors of said parish council vote on the nominees, and the nominee with the most votes becomes the mayor, Dub-Dub!

Glad you read that particular article, but all you have focussed on is the fact that '...about 20 [homeless group of gays]...' have been chased out of their communities, abandoned by their families and face harsh treatment from the general public. In you highlighting this section of the article, you have automatically inferred that these homeless group of gays are just innocents, that have been victimized by everybody else for no apparent reason. Did you happen to REREAD the headline before you decided to highlight the fact that these homeless group of gays have been chased out of their communities, abandoned by their families and face harsh treatment from the general public, LIKELY because of their unruly behaviour in the first place, which has NOTHING to do with their sexual preference, Dub-Dub? Did you also look at which party is criticizing these homeless gays, Dub-Dub?

I like how ignorant people like you think sometimes, as it makes me laugh, Dub-Dub. I'm sure you now believe that these homeless gays in Jamaica are justified in robbing people, assaulting other people (including tourists), destroying property, acting out of control, parading about naked in public around young children and all that other jazz, just because you happened to focus in on the fact that most everybody have given up on them, just because of how they behave in the community, not how they behave in their social lives, right Dub-Dub?

Here's another tidbit of information that may surprise you, since you believe that Jamaica is an arena of death for LGBT people; about 25% of Jamaica's population (that's 750,000, considering that Jamaica has a population of 3 million people) is LGBT. Now, if there were mass murders against LGBT people in Jamaica, that would mean that a genocide would be taking place in Jamaica, and (from what I understand) for UN Security Council members, like Russia, England, France, China and, you guessed it, America, they would be REQUIRED to act, which means that they would have to invade Jamaica, and occupy Jamaica, until peace is restored there, and LGBT people are safe to live in Jamaica, without the threat of genocide or violence. Yet, judging by past blunders by UN Security Council members (ex. Rwanda, Sudan, Darfur, Palestine...), I wouldn't be surprised if these countries would shy away from any credible threat to a minority group in any country! I also bet that you didn't know that these UN Security members have closely observed Jamaica from within, have business interests in Jamaica, and have repeatedly found claims by gay activists lobbying for these LGBT victims that their combined fates are a result of homophobic genocide as baseless! But hey, Dub-Dub...you can substantiate that over a period of 30 years or so, that there has been 750,000 LGBT victims killed in Jamaica, by way of homophobia, right? So why are you not at Washington D.C. then? Why are you not on Capitol Hill or at the gates of the White House protesting, Dub-Dub? Probably because you know just as well as everybody else does that the propaganda that you are reading about Jamaica is just that...BULLSHIT propaganda!

Two articles, both from the 'unbiased source' that your biased sources choose to get their articles from and manipulate the facts to what you want to hear, so that ignorant degenerates like yourself would get all riled up and start lobbying for the world's superpowers to invade Jamaica and slaughter every living Jamaican, Dub-Dub.

Fortunately, there are sensible minds on this planet, that do not clamour to the fallacies that dipshit bigots like yourself buy into, Dub-Dub. If you were able to read, you would have seen that the police official was NOT Jamaican, but a police official from the UK (a Caucasian man nonetheless), that was sent out to Jamaica to investigate the allegations behind the propaganda comments that idiots like you were making about the atmosphere in Jamaica. And after eight years in Jamaica, he had told the public his professional observation. The problem with his UNBIASED conclusion is that it doesn't fit into the thought process and the beliefs that YOU have about Jamaica, even though you have likely NEVER been there, which means that you have never been to one of the many 'freeky' clubs out there, where sex acts between heterosexuals, homosexuals and groups happen on the stage, while gay and straight patrons watch with awe, right Dum-Du..I mean, Dub-Dub? You wouldn't fathom that gay partners abuse, assault, and occasionally kill their gay partners, right Dub-Dub, cause it is SCIENTIFICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to be able to commit any sort of crime once you have come out of the closet, huh Dub-Dub? Is that what you want people to believe?

Now, take this article from the Advocate, a source you probably favour for your source of information, in relation to Dean Moriah's death. Have you found the errors in the Advocate's article yet? Is there any reason why the Advocate did not have the common decency to post A RECENT picture of the deceased (as maybe if they did, they may have been able to bring about awareness to those that may have been vacationing in Jamaica about this poor man's passing), instead of a picture of this man that appears to have been taken of him 20 years ago (that is, if it is even him)? Did any journalists from the Advocate even go to Jamaica and ask questions? Did they get fragments of facts about this tragedy from J-FLAG (you know what J-FLAG stands for, right? Of course you don't, dumbass..I mean, Dub-Dub!)? Does the Advocate even have journalists, or is the Advocate a propaganda page, created by some hating gay rights activist, of whom hides in his parents' food pantry, using his parents' WIFI, insisting that all the while, he truly is looking for a job, so that he can get out of his parents' basement, and allow his parents to live in peace? Sounds like the latter to me!
