An end run? I guess in your playpen, when we elect someone to represent us, that means nothing.

The Legislators in Hawaii voted according to the wishes of the majority.

Now about Voting on Civil Rights:
SCOTUS Majority opinion:

West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette 1943

"The very purpose of a Bill of Rights was to withdraw certain subjects from the vicissitudes of political controversy, to place them beyond the reach of majorities and officials and to establish them as legal principles to be applied by the courts. One's right to life, liberty, and property, to free speech, a free press, freedom of worship and assembly, and other fundamental rights may not be submitted to vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections."

Incorrect. Hawaii has never had an amendment defining marriage to be between a man and woman. They had an amendment defining that the legislature had the sole power to define marriage and that the courts could not invalidate that definition. It would appear that the legislature has decided to define marriage as inclusive to same-gender couples. And so they amendment is still in affect. No court can overturn that decision based on the amendment.
Gasp! You mean to say Cordwainer deliberately twisted the facts?

I'm SHOCKED! SHOCKED I say!

When did they pass such an amendment and in what universe?

The only reason queers want to marry is to have one of their conspirator team legally barred from having to testify against the illegal activities common to their partners. The incredible increase in illegal drug activity in Hawaii is completely due to queers, their use personally and their use of drugs to molest young men and adolescents.
Been smoking that wacky tobaccy, eh?

Typical lying bull from a queer. You slime want everyone to believe that a mysterious gay gene exists in ALL people and should give you legal access to children. That's historically true and true today, as proven by your own publications.
Were you born a liar or did you have to work at it?

First, 2/3rds of THOSE WHO VOTED passed the Amendment.

Second, the Amendment doesn't SAY what you think it does. It's not a technicality. It's WHAT IT SAYS.
