"Traditional marriage" as in "biblical marriage" is POLYGAMY. In biblical times, it was the pagan Romans who practiced monogamy.

"Fortunately, people of faith still have a voice and a vote, and opportunity to raise up both in the defense of GodÂ’s design for marriage."

What about those of us who believe God is a figment of their imagination and don't believe in that non-proven drivel?

I'm tired of religious people trying to take over my free America.

I think at this point these nutty groups are irrelevant. It's best just to ignore them completely and just pretend that they don't even exist at all.

not only that Brian but they don't seem to realize the marriage predates their religion...so it isn't theirs to define to begin with.

Half the fun of getting equal rights is watching the anti-gay religious nutjobs freaking out every step of the way!

They mistakenly believe that it is, and they also mistakenly believe that they have a right to impose their religious views on other Americans who follow different religions. Apparently these people do NOT support the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

You do have to admit, though, that Topix has been a whole lot less entertaining since the SCOTUS decisions came down in June....

Not that I'm complaining about it--I'm definitely not! But it would be lots more fun if all the "protect marriage" crowd hadn't scattered like cockroaches when it was clear that the tide had officially turned and their war was definitely over. There are still many battles to be fought, of course, but their war against the gays has been lost for good.

Yes, I really miss the fake lawyer from Vermont who kept claiming that Prop 8 would be upheld and that the federal govt would be required to follow state law regarding who they would extend federal benefits to.

I imagine he/she is having an absolute hissyfit about right now!
