Yours is now seriously ebbing, Melvin. I wish I could say that I was sorry, but you do have it coming. It tickles me when folk like you get your panties all tied in a knot like this.

does anyone really care if a bunch of freaks want to call themselves 'married'? no normal person will ever see them as a 'married' procreating couple so who cares what they call themselves ? it gives them the civil protections and financial headaches of a normal married couple, but that could be accomplished with regulation for a civil union. let them live their utopia of feeling married, they can't naturally procreate and can now join the dying institution of 'marriage', divorce and civil litigation for each others money when their utopia dissolves.

Another sensitive post by a poster boy for the hetero community.

"...but that could be accomplished with regulation for a civil union." Seems the legislaturecritters couldn't do that. No point in making a marriage tier. 2nd class citizenship and rights is passe.

And then wishing the all the best of marriage on everyone. Seems there is no good outcome for some. No matter how you have it.

Love, commitment, marriage, and family life are all "evil"?

If that is the case, why the heck do so many straight people teach their gay kids to value them?

No but homosexuality is.
Why? If homosexuality is evil, the Church views, birth control, divorce and adultery as such too, yet heterosexuals practice it. Look up divorce statistics. MSN posted the 8 most common reasons for divorce in the USA, lack of commitment, infidelity, incessant arguing, too young, etc.

The marriage rite goes on. Courts move slowly unless they want to deal with an issue.

All the state, counties or cities have to do with any such laws taken to the Supremes is not defend it. Same for the abortion ban in Albuquerque. Pass? Don't defend it when the ACLU comes a knocking.

It won't be long now before the New Mexico Supreme Court rules in favor of same-sex marriage. And then the gays will enjoy the same liberty and civil rights as do heterosexual couples.
