It's a great step. Thing is they usually don't give employees enough hours to be considered full time.

I suspect this will affect very few Walmart workers. Not because they aren't gay but because they don't work enough hours to qualify for benefits in the first place.

It's easy for a corporation to be generous to its' employees, when that generosity is extended to, maybe, 10 percent of their thousands of employees.

The handwriting is on the wall. The death of DOMA section 2 means that ALL the hit parade of rights, benefits and protections previously denied to legally married same sex couples are going to be due them at some point. The benefits that the Almighty Wal-Mart is so benevolently bestowing upon their legally married to someone of their same sex employees, are actually a good sized chunk off that list. They're just ducking before the hit sh*ts the fan.

Obamacare is going to force all Americans to work part time. And if Obamacare is so great, then why did the Democrats who voted for it (NO REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS voted for Obamacare), exempt themselves from it ?

Because they do that with nearly every regulatory law they pass as a matter of practice. They ALL consider themselves above the law. It is not limited to Democrats.

Well, well, guess what........according to this article Federal workers are not exempt from Obamacare. Here's an article I read in the St. Louis Post Dispatch this morning:

Although, Congress itself is exempt. You know, our "rulers".

Don't be so hasty Daniel. You're failing to see that its mandates in the realm of employer provided insurance benefits are the best unintended homosexualization of America yet. Companies, regardless of where they are located, providing insurance coverage to the spouse and family of an employee, are going to have to provide them regardless of the sex of the employee's spouse. If you have a legally valid marriage license, it does not matter how not recognized your marriage is by the state you're living in, your spouse, by federal law, now qualifies to join you on your insurance. How many companies are going to want to put up that fight?

Not a SINGLE Republican voted for Obamacare (also known as "Stalinism-lite"). ONLY DEMOCRATS voted to pass Obamacare and The Obamaniac, his cohorts and minions, and Democrats in Congress have all claimed it's the GREATEST thing since oxygen and water were invented by somebody. Now since the DEMOCRATS keep saying how GREAT it is, then why would they NOT want to take part in it ??? Could they be.... what's the word ??? oh yeah...... LYING ???????

Some may not think Obamacare is good. Some may. The fact remains that they (Congress) exempt themselves from EVERYTHING THEY CAN. It's not a matter of good or bad of the legislation. It is just that they have it so great, they don't want to change anything that has any effect of THEIR way of life. Bottom line is......they are selfish and small-minded, and want what they want, when they want it. I'm sure you are familiar with the concept.
