While Corcoran and his partner may enjoy different rights under Canadian law than they would in this country to press such a claim, I can't see what is gained by it. They had to realize that even in being chaste in their relationship, such a relationship would be unwelcome to others of their faith and that the Church itself finds simply being homosexual, let alone acting upon it, incompatible with doctrine. All this action will serve to do is add fuel to the fire of anti-gay bigotry that comes from the Catholic Church. I realize they feel that they have been wronged by the faith they chose to serve, but they should have seen this coming from miles away. Find a faith that embraces who you are as a person, not one that you know rejects you no matter how much you bend to their will.

Most Churches do embrace who you are as children of God, however most don't embrace sinful behavior which homosexual behavior fall under the catigory of sexual immorality.

Evidently the Catholic Church is not one of those in the equally detestable "love the sinner, hate the sin" crowd on the subject of homosexuality, because they stripped Corcoran and his partner of their duties even though they are in a chaste relationship...

The RCC is trying to save their BUTTS because of the pedophile priests' scandal. And once again, it is on the backs of gay people. I think this is a terrible time to be a catholic anyway.

There is no such thing as sexual immorality. It is imaginary just like your god.

Agreed. But it may force the Roman Catholic Church to be more honest about how deeply homophobic they are.
They had to realize that even in being chaste in their relationship, such a relationship would be unwelcome to others of their faith and that the Church itself finds simply being homosexual, let alone acting upon it, incompatible with doctrine.
Not so. By remaining chaste, they have done exactly what the Vatican has called for: Avoiding "sinful" sexual relationships. The fact that they provided each other companionship is really not that different than my widowed aunt sharing a house and companionship with another widow.
All this action will serve to do is add fuel to the fire of anti-gay bigotry that comes from the Catholic Church.
This is exactly the red meat that our opponents will latch onto to prove that freedom of speech and freedom of religion are at risk.

DUH! How can people "believe" in a faith that defines them as less than human and refuses to recognize them as legitimate creations of G-d? I'm continually baffled by this. This is not much different than a black man or Jew that wants to legally force himself into a closed country club - who would want to be a part of that?- and this is actually even worse, at the country club the people hate you, here their god does...

Nooo, being gay isn't sinful. Physical characteristics aren't sins. Innate characteristics that cause no harm aren't immoral.

Now, gay folks can engage in the same sinful behaviors that straight folks do. No one argues that.

What acts of immorality were these men accused of? And were straight folks booted for the same ones?

Tall people aren't a race either. Nor are folks who smarter than most. Or less intelligent. Or clumsier. Or red haired.

Should we deport them, too, if they get on your nerves?

Pointing to sinful behavior to justify sinful behavior doesn't fly, just because normal people engage in sinful behavior doesn't make it right.

It isn't being homosexual that is sinful, but the behavior that is accociated with that.

Based on what? Some deliberately incorrect translation of a Bible into English? Whatever.

So you know the translator?? Or is it you would really like to translate it yourself so it doesn't make your behavior a sin?
