I wish the article had more information about how the winners were chosen. Is it just possible that choosing the lesbian couple will generate more news coverage than choosing a heterosexual couple would have? Would choosing a gay male couple have generated too much negative feedback?

Oh, come on.

If up to ME, I would skip the big fat wedding and ask for the cash for something useful, probably as a big down payment on a house or something they can actually use.

I would too, but maybe they just entered for the fun of it.

I'd skimp on the wedding part and use it for a fantastic honeymoon! But I'm sure it's all preplanned with businesses donating their services. It would still be great to have a great free wedding!

$100,000 for siding and windows? Must be a big house!
