Ms. Foster just confirmed what everyone already knew. The world didn't screech to a halt with her admission, and in fact, she's generally receiving support and kudos from all corners of the globe.

Are you taking notes, Mr. Cruise and Mr. Travolta?

I read this elsewhere earlier. I don't think she offically came out.

Actually, as a blogger for UK's "The Guardian" pointed out:
And it was a coming out. One would have to be willfully obtuse to doubt the meaning of Foster's remarks at the ceremony, where she received the Cecil B DeMille lifetime achievement award. Her memories of opening up to friends and family and references to Cydney Bernard as "one of the deepest loves of my life, my heroic co-parent, my ex-partner in love but heroic soul sister in life", left little room for doubt.
Not that I'm accusing anyone of being "willfully obtuse", mind you ...

I used to like Jodie Foster before I heard she turned into a dyke.

I think we all have known for a very long time taht she is a lesbian. But my point is that she has never publicly said, to the best of my knowledge: "I am a a lesbian." ergo, in my book, she hasn't "offically" come out.
