Jun 5, 2013 Full story: Lexington Herald-Leader 1,115

At least three churches in central Kentucky - including one of the state's biggest churches - have said they are cutting ties with the Boy Scouts of America following the organization's decision last month to allow gay scouts.

How about no response meaning there are no points. I am totally amazed where all of this obsession with 'judging' comes from. Your mother has misled you. Until you are willing to go to church yourself, you are presuming way too much mainly because you are making a point of why any of us would be there.
Well smell you miss thing.
You write with all sincerity, " I am totally amazed where all of this obsession with 'judging' comes from."

Then follow it with passing judgement on someone's dead mother.

"Your mother has misled you."

And you can't see why I would NEVER want to visit YOUR CHURCH? Are you really THAT DENSE?

To the one who stated they are worshipping the SAME God i.e. Muslims? NO. Only one God whose son is Christ Jesus and a part of the trinity: the Father, Son, Holy Spirit -- three in ONE.
Actually it is the same God, there is one and only one perfect being in this universe and that is God. So however I or anybody else choose to worship that God isn't up for you or anybody else to decide on whether its right or wrong as its not a question of right or wrong its a question of beliefs the faith in those beliefs and how we carry ourselves in our life based on what we believe. This person who is a Muslim, a Buddist, Universalist, Wiccan or whatever is worshipping God, the God of their understanding. And the only three I see is on the pitch fork you are wielding. Christians are like a mob menatality chasing folks with torches and pitch forks cause people have the audacity to believe in something other than what they try to force down everybodys throats. I have nothing against the Christian religion or the Christians who practice it. My beef is with those who say that I believe differently so I am wrong and going to hell

'today' seems to be unaware that Muslims consider Jesus a prophet.

And she dares to say my dead mom mislead ME?

He or she has obviously never bothered to learn her own religion's history.

They go to church and accept whatever is preached without question. Then gets their panties in a wad when people show how clueless they are.

Let me ask everyone, would you attend a church that taught it's ok to besmirch the memory of a stranger's dead mother?

Not only is that UnChristian behavior but it's tacky crude and classless.

And notice there is NO apology!(so much for her or him repenting such a sin).

As you have pointed out the poster from Elizabethtown is a great preacher but a lousy student of the Bible, religion in general and Christ's message in particular.

Well for myself personally I find organized religion in any form oppressive. No matter if its Christian, Buddhism, Universalism or Wiccan with being organized it seems like it loses its sense of what it is. Kind of like to many cooks type of deal, im more of a solitary practioner for lack of a better term. I follow the path I believe God wants me to be on and I don't need a church or bible to tell me how I live as I have a God Conscious.

Support of anything that is not mandated is a gift, it can be withdrawn at any time, these churchs are under no legal obligation to support any thing they might disagree with, you may however pony up the funds to continue this party if you wish, also your right.

<quoted text>Well you look to Paul's words, I look at the words of Jesus.
It's ironic that you ask that question. Tell me how you decide. Leviticus is often used to condemn me yet I don't see many people practicing all the prohibition listed. Do you keep your head covered when you go to church? Ever wear the color red? Mixed fiber clothing? Eat shrimp or pork?
The usual answer is the story about the veil in the Temple being torn. That a NEW Covenant has been ordained.
Yet as I pointed out, that New Covenant isn't much different than the old one. Seems to me that you folks get to pick and choose what scripture to follow and you usually gravitate to the ones that let you be busy bodies and gossips about who did what to whom. All this evangelizing telling people they are wrong and will go to hell unless they believe and do what you say they should believe and do.
My faith in God is my business. Just as your faith is yours. That being said, religious freedom is no reason to deny a group like gays and lesbians equal protection under our laws. Even the Bible says to obey civil laws. Yet you folks don't want to when it comes to people you see as sinners.
So, tell us how you decide which scriptures to follow and which ones to ignore.
As a Christian, I work towards obeying all. I don't blow off the inconvient ones like going to meet with the saints, or taking the Lords supper every first day of the week. God gave them to us for a reason, when we pick & choose it's like telling God that His plan doesn't work.

I say as a Christian because the old social laws are not required. Christ fulfilled the old & established the new.

Good for you.

So you favor churches punishing Scout Troops for doing nothing wrong?

For ignoring all the good scouting does because the BSA FINALLY decided to accept ALL God's children as members?

You really haven't made your position clear on that subject.

So far all I have seen is you accuse other believers of not worshiping God correctly.

Gross conceptual error. Jesus "fulfilled" the Law by performing the required actions, specifically, he was in Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Passover as the Bible requires. Had he lived, he would have had to show up again next year to fulfill the Law, or he would have committed a sin.

The Bible is VERY clear that ALL of the Commandments of the Law are to be followed FOR EVER, without adding or subtracting anything.

YOU read and study it and think that??? The Muslims will state that Jesus is a prophet; they do not acknowledge that God is the Father whose son Christ died on the cross for our sins. Neither would they think that we have to accept Christ as Lord of our life. Last of all, Satan knows there is Christ, but what does he do with Him. The same thing that unbelievers do. Reject Him. Again, some of you need to take time to watch maybe Billy Graham Classics on TV. Also, some of our churches have their sermons available to view on their church websites. Since so many don't bother to go, it's no wonder you are totally confused. BTW, He Lives, He Lives! Christ Jesus lives in my heart. YES. That doesn't mean we are not supposed to go to church to worship and learn.

Satan is a myth. That Jesus was anything other than a wandering Jewish preacher is a myth. It is blasphemy and an abomination to worship Jesus as if he were a god. The phrase "son of God" does not mean what you want to pretend it means. ANY observant male Jew can be referred to as a son of God. If you actually read the Bible and understood what it says, this would be obvious to you.

My word. Where have all these posters come from or where have they been? Not in an evangelical church which preaches the love of God to send (yes) HIS SON to die for our sins and what we must do to enjoy eternal life in HEAVEN vs HELL with Him. The Bible teaches it. It's called faith; sorry so many of you are missing and some are refusing to believe. From Genesis to Revelation, it's a miracle. I, for one, cannot deny what the Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent God has done.

I scanned some of your postings. Your free will is sending to an eternity in hell. Your opinions are far from being what scripture says. I would reconsider my free will choice.
