Actually, I think the *person* was referring to the number of abortions currently being performed in this country.<quoted text>
Why the hell should it be 3,400 a day? Who gets to make the decision about who gets to take control of their destiny and who doesn't? What about a woman who was raped or molested? What about if she is poor and young and knows she can't provide a good life for her kid? What if the kid has defects, and will end up miserable, and burden to his loved ones? I guess if one of those women comes forward, but she's 3,401, you'll tell her to go screw? Is that it?
I'm fairly certain he's foaming to see that number go down by...well...3400 a day. If he had his way, NO abortions would be performed, since that would mean leaving reproduction up to women, rather than to the will of his god.
In the view he seems to espouse, women are supposed to submit to pregnancy as one of three things: redemption, obligation, or punishment...and we're not intended to actually enjoy the act that gets us that way.
Frankly, I'm also fairly certain that he's not first in line at the Amsterdam clinic, successfully giving men wombs, so they can carry their own pregnancy...but if he wants to control a womb, that's really his only option. Wish he'd take it.
