If they test all the blood then why does it matter who donates? No one, not even them, can seem to answer that question.

Ask Ryan White

Did you know that medical accidents (wrong medication or dosage and surgical mistakes) are the third leading cause of death in America?
Yeah, let's put our faith in the AMA.

As if the FDA does any better.
Notice how many lawyers are advertising for clients harmed by side effects from drugs that had been given FDA approval?

It SHOULDN'T matter, but we're talking about a way for hypocrites and bigots to enact hate-based rules that do not protect the public.

Canada's blood rules have long been written by hateful bigots. For a long time, ANY gay person who donated blood would be rejected (including virgins), and until a few years ago, any gay person who had sex even once was permanently barred. That could include two gay people losing their virginity to each other, absolutely no risk, and they would STILL be rejected.

At the same time, there were NO restrictions on straight people and how many sex partners they had. I have no doubt the same stupidity and "policy" goes on in the US.

Rampant hypocrisy and hate continues surrounding blood and organ donation. Read this item from April 2013:

http://www.queerty.com/gay-mans-donated-organ...

A gay man's organs are rejected because he was gay and had a sex partner within five years of his death. Meanwhile, a straight could fuck and suck with a different person every night, never using a condom, and still be allowed to donate blood or organs. If that's not hate, discrimination and hypocrisy, what is?

Right! They thoroughly screen donors, so what difference their sexuality? Another failing attempt at cutting us off from "normal society"!
