My partner and I are moving to Atlanta in November for a career change and I'm a little apprehensive about this whole thing. Are there any gay friendly areas there?

Go over to the Gay Cafe thread and ask "Straight Shooter". He used to post as "Johnny Spandex" from Atlanta. He will surely be able to tell you lots of information.....that he "googles"! LOL You stalked you over to this thread.

There are so many it is impossible to decide which one you like best until you have lived in Atlanta for a while
.
The best approach is to meet with a 'Little Five Points'; 'Midtown'; or 'Buckhead' GAY real estate agent. Let him/her lead you to several rental or purchase properties that fit your personalities and are convenient to your jobs
.
Jump right in: google Atlanta Gay Realtors
.
Warning! Make ABSOLUTELY and POSITIVELY certain the realtor you deal with is a 100% bornGAY person; NOT a poser! Posers have no clue where gay people live and you'll end up in a dump in east [email protected]
.
Also google Atlanta Gay Newspapers to get a feel for the dynamics

When you make a mistake it's a typo but when anybody else makes a mistake it's because they're stupid. Funny that.

So you're moving to Atlanta huh? Will you be purchasing an imaginary house there?

They don't cotton to queers coming down there and molesting their little boys. They'll cut your baIIs off.

One story said Atlanta was the "gayest city in America."

Both of the neighborhoods in your examples are battle zones for everyone; regardless of their backgrounds. If you have to drive through; do so in a Bradley Armored Fighting Vehicle and don't dare stop for traffic signals. They will steal the tracks off it while you wait for the light to turn green

.
This is why it is important for newcomers to Atlanta to hire a 100% BORNGAY real estate agent to show you houses and rentals in appropriate neighborhoods
.
Once you get settled and the Magic of Atlanta sets in; you'll never give it up
.
Just ask Elton John who has lived here for decades
.
So why did Elton decide to call the center of the new South home?
.
"Atlanta provides me with a respite from the glare of Hollywood," Elton said. "The city is symbolic of a new, progressive American urban center. I can spend some quiet and peaceful time there and really decompress from the rigors of touring the world and the flashbulbs of the media. I just feel comfortable here."

OMG! You must be older than air; po'thang
.
There is no 'Atlanta bus station' anymore
.
Each interstate bus company is assigned an exclusive subway station where it picks up and puts out passengers
.
Example:
.
Greyhound at the Garnett Street subway station
Megabus at the Civic Center subway station; etc. etc.
.
You can hop off the bus; jump on the subway; and shoot directly to the inside of the airport lobby if you have to pee
