Tally Ho! Catholic Church Attacks Marriage Equality In Delaware

Feb 4, 2013 | Posted by: Sei | Full story: lezgetreal.com

As Delaware moves towards marriage equality, the Catholic Church is panicking. Bishop Francis Malooly of Wilmington, Delaware has gone on the offensive attacking marriage equality in Delaware, and, of course, doing his level best to erase lesbians and gays from existence.

Gay people don't deserve the same consideration as straight married men and women.

Marriage will always truly only be between a man and a woman.

Both of your statements are false, offensive, and have a stench of bigotry that wafts to the ceiling and hangs there like a green cloud.

Since when does any human being not deserve the same consideration as anyone else? Jeebus doesn't like that, you know.

And as for your "marriage will always truly only be..." statement, well, that's true except when it's not. We are moving toward becoming a more just, more equal society, and guess what? There are thousands of married gay couples. Unless your marriage certificate has the personal signature of God Almighty on it, and theirs does not because God Almighty does not approve, then you should refrain from making such false and ludicrous statements.

Your pride and arrogance at being born a heterosexual are showing in your words. I've always been taught that God Almighty does not approve of such pride and arrogance. Repent before it's too late.

Ah-ha! I figured (correctly) that your bigotry was bible-based. I respect the bible as a valuable source of ancient writing, on a par with writings of Cicero and Homer and hundreds of others. But that's all it is. No finger of God Almighty penned one single word.

In case you didn't know, it is not used as a reference in legal matters in this country (and thank goodness for that, otherwise we'd be stoning many of the brides in this country). You may be one of those who thinks we can ignore the ugly, immoral parts (or one of those who hasn't read the book and therefore doesn't even know about the ugly, immoral parts), but to do so calls into question the whole book, doesn't it?

Of course the Roman catholic Church opposes Equality. They have ALWAYS opposed Equality. The Roman Catholic Church IS Evil.

Do you know that as late as 1996, the Roman Catholic Church was STILL using slave-labor in Ireland ?

You are quoting a section of scripture regarding divorce, not same sex folks marrying.

And don't the vast majority of Christian denominations allow divorce and re-marriage?

The whole point is that your religion, or mine, or the guy down the street's, should not play any part in secular law. Otherwise, it would be chaos.

We ALL have different beliefs, but living in a free country is messy, and sometime we allow other people just to live their own lives without interference form one religious viewpoint or another.

(If they are straight. It would not be the correct combination for those God created as gay.

Would YOU want your straight child to marry a gay person who is incapable of loving them as they should be loved?

Of course not.

And yet, God also instilled in gay folks the same deep human need for love, companionship, and, yes, even sex.

I don't believe that was just intended to be a practical joke.

Wrong. God would not create something that is contrary to his design. Homosexuality is caused by sabotage by Satan in the fetus during the gestation period in an effort to turn God's creations against him.
Homosexuality is the perfect conduit for Satan to wreak havok on society, as the homosexuals can hide behind the Constitution.

Ha, you are such a card! I'm saying that in hopes that you are not serious in any kind of belief in Santa, er, Satan. Or that you are somehow claiming to know, above anyone else, what is God's design, or what is contrary to "his" design.

Arrogance and pride. That's what I see in your words. Doesn't your religion have something to say about that?

You don't have to be arrogant or possess a power of discernment to see God's design. To most people that design is intuitively obvious. Something, or someone, is blocking your intuition.
