Though this is NOT really a surprise.....it just continues to show the animus towards a group of individuals for NO other reason than who they are and who they love..........in the end, all that will have happened is a delay........and NOTHING else!!!

You'd think they would have learned their lesson when the higher courts denied the Oregon attempts to stay the lifting of their ban on same-sex marriages. I guess they have no more pressing concerns in Wisconsin, like dealing with poverty, crime, etc. so need to spend tax money on something like doomed legal efforts.

Exactly......at best all this does is delay the inevitable and wastes the taxpayer's money that could be used on other issues, like the ones you mentioned!!!

MOST people, notably Americans, area now, and always have been, opposed to freedom.

When Democratic President Wilson was pushing the U.S. into war in Europe in World War I, ostensibly to "make the world safe for democracy", most American women were not allowed to vote.

When Democratic President Roosevelt went to war in Europe and the Pacific in World War II, he articulated that same year his "Four Freedoms" that he said everyone in the world should enjoy, yet that same year he rounded up Japanese-Americans (bot not German-Americans, nor Italian-Americans) and put them in concentration camps (there was one near where I am living now in Arizona).

The proposed Equal Rights Amendment is a long-dead issue.

MOST people are opposed to freedom.

Well, it's about time; this is a very 'sinful' action for a woman to lay with a woman and a man to lay with a man!

Freedom is an ideal we strive for. Those who hate freedom struggle against it making lame excuses.

Just like any other state, they desperately grasp at anything they can to try to hold onto any legal loopholes that allow them to openly and "legally" discriminate. It won't last long, and they will eventually be disgraced for being on the wrong side of history.

You MUST be confused......there is NOTHING in your precious bible that claims what you claim it says!!!

And all this will be is a delay......and wasted taxpayer's money.......in the end....the right to marry will continue!!!

Try this:
.
Well, it's about time; this is a very 'sinful' action for a straight woman to lay with a straight woman and a straight man to lay with a straight man!
.
This was the way sexual orientation was described in biblical times

The funny thing about your mouthbreather buybull post is that it pretty much comprises the Wisconsin attorney general's legal "argument" to halt marriage equality....

It's a very 'sinful' action for a person to wear cotton and rayon and nylon all at the same time.

20 years in the slammer ! THAT'S obviously how God wants us to punish these sinful people !

The AG, as a republican, is expected to do everything in his power to stop or delay same sex marriage.

In the long run it will have little effect, except as some have said, to cost taxpayers more money and waste everyone's time... which is what republicans, especially those in congress, are good at these days.

(Note ahead of time - I am NOT against gay marriage)

Everyone here is talking like this is an evil republican issue. SInce you bring up Oregon, you should know, if you don't already, that the vast majority of registered voters in Oregon are Democrat. It was this voter base that voted to change the Oregon constitution to OUTLAW gay marriage. Oregon has been run by liberal democrats for over 30 years at almost every level of government.

I won't get into the argument about whether our AG should or should not have supported the law but just want all you republican bashers toi know that it was a LIBERAL voter base that outlawed/banned gay marriage in Oregon and a LIBERAL AG who spent tax payer dollars fighting it in court in front of a gay LIBERAL judge.
