She claims they knew she was married to a woman before, during and after the hiring to this position.
Then a new priest...then some article about her (Lutheran) clergy wife in the paper...and then this firing.
"Hard to believe" this is the same institution which prohibits female clergy and clearly mishandled, at best, all the abuse cases for decades. Obsessed with masturbation and birth control....
No sexual sickness there whatsoever. You can look behind every male misogynist potentate's ermine collared dress and find precisely none.

Religious institutions are not required to employ people who live in open sin and bring reproach upon the body. It's called the 1st Amendment.
#3 Jul 17, 2014
Yet in all these cases the rcc did employ these people for years. In many cases the rcc's own employment contracts specifically forbid discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation.
Also, there's lots of ways to live in "open sin." The rcc misogynists in dandy dresses have a focus particularly on two or three "sins," all of a sexual or intimate nature. This can raise selective enforcement issues.
These houses of worship (of hate) and affiliated institutions are definitely prohibited from discriminating on other traits which are equally protected in the various laws, such as race.
The issue is not so simple.

Bullshit. The RCC has always condemned homosexual behavior, and under the 1st Amendment, they cannot be forced by government to condone such behavior by employing homosexuals.
Go trying blowing that smoke up someone else's ass. I know better.
#5 Jul 18, 2014
Even these rcc affiliated institutions are trying to say that they don't mind employing homosexuals. In fact, they have and they do employ homosexuals. And many of them have explicit statements that they will not discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation.
What they're trying to say, disingenuously, is that all these firings are only because the ex employees married someone of the same gender.
That's two different things, rube.
Now, whether some high court or the Supreme Court will let them get away with the disingenuous hair splitting is yet to be resolved.

1. True, plenty of proof available. Count the lawsuits.
2. True, they don't.
3. True. You're catching on. Nothing disingenuous though.
4. You are beginning to amaze me.
5. No hair splitting. According to you all gays are promiscuous and will get married to a same sex partner. That will cause them problems. You were on a roll and then failed.

I know. I informed of the apparently quite mad Messianic Jew's christianist fundie organization for you so you could see all the examples of litigation.
The most interesting cases will be the ones where the disingenuous, misogynistic rcc had explicit policies claiming it doesn't discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation.
Clearly it does.
But it's okay for "religious" kooks to bear false witness....
Oh, and the rcc hires and retains lgbt people all the time. That is not the same as it finding that lgbt are okay. It does not, as the whole intrinsic disorder defamation shows. I think we need to defame all rcc misogynists and homophobes as being instrinsically disordered. Many people think this, but it's generally not been the practice to formalize the judgement. Yet.

No, you're lying. No RCC employment contract specifically forbids discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation.
Typical wacko liberal bullshit. You have no facts so you lie your ass off.
#9 Jul 18, 2014
No, you're dissembling, and it's worse when "religious" bigots bear false witness than when non religious people do, because then you get hypocrisy along with the bigotry.
The rcc claims at this institution (and at others, like some of the schools,) are posted right on the websites and in marketing materials which are publicly available.
They officially claim not to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation. Whether the rcc mullahs have such non discrimination statements in the bigoted employment contracts does not affect what I said, you ignorant bigot.
Didn't jeesus tell you not to bear false witness? I bet you've masturbated and had extra marital or non procreative sex or used birth control, too. Shameful!
#10 Jul 18, 2014
Oh wait, I did misstate that. I don't even remember posting exactly that yesterday about the employment contracts.
I know icons can and are altered here after the fact, but I doubt posts are.
No, I should restrict my claim to the statements of non discrimination only.
#11 Jul 19, 2014
In post #3 Ted said,In many cases the rcc's own employment contracts specifically forbid discrimination in employment on the basis of sexual orientation.
Then in post #9 you said,Whether the rcc mullahs have such non discrimination statements in the bigoted employment contracts does not affect what I said, you ignorant bigot.
In between your posts I called you out for lying your ass off. You dont have the balls to admit it, so you give a half hearted withdrawal in your post #9.
The fact remains that you have no basis for your claims and you lied your ass off hoping to fool others.
The truth is that we have religious freedom in this country, and a religious organization cannot be forced to hire homosexuals. The 1.2% of the population in this country that are homosexuals can find employment elsewhere. If you don't like it, too damn bad.
I get so tired of homosexuals always whining about not getting special treatment and rights the rest of the population doesn't get.

Hey christardate, I acknowledged a misstatement.
Now acknowledge you're a psychosexually disturbed closet case who purposefully lies all the time and refuses to correct his errors when they're pointed out to him.
You reprobate bigot.
(Some of) these places have official policies of non discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. At the least that complicates their legal position...whatever the employment contracts say. It's not that hard a concept to follow.
#13 Jul 19, 2014
You idiot liberals are so predictable. You lie your asses off trying to sway people to your view, then when you're called out you don't have the balls to admit you're a liar. Then, you toss out a diversion, most often nasty, baseless personal attacks.
So typical. So juvenile. Such idiocy. And you wonder why smart people recognize that liberalism is a mental disease.
#14 Jul 19, 2014
Exactly wrong liar. I acknowledged my error in that post.
Talibangelicals and tee baggrz are the ones who make an art out of craven lying and denial.
But right wingers almost always invert right for wrong, up for down, black for white.
Oh, and the point remains: These rcc mullah affiliated institutions have stated official policies of non discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. That's contractual, too. So the courts have a lot to sort out here.
