Something Rotten Happening In The Chicago Archdiocese

There are 29 comments on the lezgetreal.com story from Feb 12, 2013, titled Something Rotten Happening In The Chicago Archdiocese . In it, lezgetreal.com reports that:

There is something deeply disturbing going on in the Archdiocese of Chicago around the issue gay and lesbian youth in Catholic homes. Not satisfied with trying to stop Gay Marriage the Cardinal is now turning his focus on PFLAG. He believes PFLAG is too political, and does not want any Catholic Parish identified with it.

Rotten, but unfortunately not surprising. The Catholic church calling PFLAG "too political" would be amusing if it weren't so shamelessly hypocritical.

Tax-exempt homophobic churches have no legal authority whatsoever over Gay people

When I read the headline, "something rotten going on in Chicago Archdiocese" my first thought was "oh, they woke up again."

I'm still amazed how many people actually listen to these idiot cardinals & bishops.

Gotta love the nuns who are openly defying the vatican and the church over marriage & abortion.

Just more proof they need a woman as pope.

I don't know. My family was born and raised Lutheran (ELCA), and more than 50 year later I'm still a Lutheran and a regular church-goer.

Ten years ago, after more than 40 years, my sister became a Roman Catholic and raised her kids Roman Catholic

I never spoke to her again.

No, you were not born Lutheran, any more than you were born speaking English. Both require learning. And not speaking to your sister because she's Catholic and you're Protestant is just plain stupid. You're both christians. All you're really doing is fighting over which of you has the better version of the same fairy tale.

When she was a Lutheran, she was o very friendly terms with my boyfriend and treated him like family.

Since she became a Roman Catholic, she became extremely ant-gay.

And on a side note: The Roman Catholic Church has already played the Children's Services card: They threw a tantrum and exited that business over civil unions. So what do they have left to stamp and call attention to? Nuttin' boys. You got nuttin'.

And you're about to make the same mistake in Colorado.

Gee her own brother rejects her for exercising her right to religious freedom and he's shocked she's now "anti gay"?
