This happens all the time, it just happend to me in North Carolina. They did not want to give us a single king room and actually cited the ban on gay marriage as the reason. I advised that we weren't married just fu&$ing each other. I got my room from the supervisor.

And now decent people will boycott that Shiite hole hotel after this, losing them loads of money. Real smart business techniques, Cletus.

My spouse and I have been traveling, nationally and internationally, for over 40 years. We have never had any questions, and never been refused a double bed. None of our friends have ever told us of any problems, either. I suppose it is the political climate. We push for our rights, and they push back in any way they can. Hopefully, companies see the light faster than their employees, and the employees have to go along or lose their jobs.

We call it "naivete`".

For your own sake, don't travel until you've checked with some gay travel consultants.

I suspect this was not the fault of the hotel (this is London, UK, not Uganda!) but rather of the receptionist. I'll bet the receptionist was either an immigrant from a homophobic country or a little old lady.

That's because you sneak him in the back door when no one is looking.

Or maybe just a decent human being. Either way he/she did the right thing.

No, you're remembering your first date with a hooker. I, on the other hand, am very proud of my spouse, and neither one of us has any use for hookers.

The "right thing", huh. You mean like going against discrimination laws?

In the UK the political climate is far more accepting than the USA. What century are YOU calling in from, anyway?

I've read that even the Queen is completely non worried about gays and has many working in Buckingham Palace. I also read that on occasion she will enter a room with several employees and say "I see ALL of us old Queens are here!"

I spent some time in Coventry at THE church of England ground zero and my hubby and I had a fine chat with a friendly canon. HE could not understand the fuss about homphobes in America.

Why can't YOU climb on board, grampy?

Oh, who knows WHERE those liars are from? Any tool can sign in under one of a dozen false names and false countries. I almost prefer the ones who leave their city blank, at least that is ONE less lie. I mean besides every other word they feverishly type in on their dial up modem Atari computer from 1986. You'd think they would get tired of looking at that green screen!
