I don't care if they marry as long as they don't do it in church. Now that's just disrespectful. I already have an issue with these catholic priests molesting little boys but I won't go there. People are just sick. That's disrespectful to the church too. Smh
And how DARE str8 people get married by a Justice Of The Peace or a JUDGE, for heaven's sake ! that's just DISRESPECTFUL to the church !

And DON'T let Hindu Americans, or Buddhist Americans or atheist Americans get married at all because that's just disrespectful to the church ! I already have an issue with dumbasses like you but I won't go there.

Again showing your anger. I know all of this. I have gay friends and gay family members. No need to get so upset. And as far as how you get married and by who well I'm concerned because of what I've read in the bible but then again you're right its your business. I'm just saying what I'm saying because of what the church preaches. That is all. I don't mind if you get married. I just have a problem with it being religious. I know God Loves everyone. I know that but in the bible it says two cities were destroyed for foul things. Specifically men with men. It's what I was taught. I'm not here to judge you though I'm just saying I don't like it I have a problem with it. I'm not saying you can't do it. You can do what you want just like a murderer can kill someone I dont like it but that doesn't mean they can't do it. It happens everyday.
Please do not throw around your association with gay people as though it justifies or lessens the extent of your bigotry. Having gay friends and gay family members does not help your case, it actually makes it worse. If I were to say something about black people that could be construed as racist or intolerant, but then followed it up with, "But I have black friends," that does not somehow make it more acceptable to hold the opinion I do; on the contrary, it makes it less acceptable.

You are here and you are judging us. You are specifically saying that it is insulting for gay people, especially two gay men, to get married in a place that you deem too worthy for gay men to step foot in and share their love for each other and for their God. You say, "I know God loves everyone," but you simultaneously are saying, "But He doesn't love gay people as much as he love straight people." Cut to the chase and say it outright, because blanketed bigotry is still bigotry. Not everyone believes in your interpretation of the Bible.

And finally, your passing mention of those two cities? That makes you seem uneducated. Read those stories again. Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because the city was intolerant, inhospitable, and savage to outsiders. When Lot arrived, he was accosted by men who demanded that he produce the angel so that they might "know" them. "Know" in this case means rape. And rape is a violent act designed to humiliate and subdue the victim. That has nothing to do with homosexuality. The real kicker in this is that Lot offered up his daughter for the men to rape, stating that she was a virgin. In the end, Lot pleaded with God, saying that if he could find one kind person in the city limits, God should spare the city. He did not find one. God destroyed the city because of the corruption and greed that it had succumbed to.

So if you believe we are angry, it is because people like you do not take the time to figure out who we are as PEOPLE, even though you casually believe that because you know a gay person, you must be exempt from criticism.

The decision to marry in a church is a personal choice. America does not endorse any religion.

I just have to laugh at people like you who accuse me of being angry when no anger was ever shown.......lol!!!

Your religious beliefs are just that.....YOURS!!!

My religious beliefs are mine and we are not required to believe the same......thank God for that!!!

Actually Sodom and Gomorrah had nothing to do with homosexuality......it had to do more with other issues like hospitality and again, your religious beliefs have no business in our secular form of government and besides, the Church doesn't own marriage........the State does......it is the State that issues the marriage license and it is the State that allows Religious Clergy to perform the wedding ceremony as a representative of the State.......that's why Religious Clergy folks must make the disclaimer at the end of the ceremony before the pronouncement, ya know.....By the Power invested in me by the State of disclaimer!!!

My biggest issue with the two sides presented in this article was the guy who didn't like the NAACP's support of marriage equality:

'Langford said he was "very disappointed" in the board's decision. "They have mixed apples and oranges," he said. "It's always been about our identity, not our behavior."'

His attitude reflects a basic misunderstanding about being gay. He sees homosexuality as a matter of behavior, not identity. He is wrong. Being gay is primarily a matter of identity, just like one's race. You can be gay without ever having sex.

This is why marriage equality IS a matter of civil rights. And to say that domestic partnerships, or civil unions or whatever little crumbs by any other name get thrown our way, are just as good, overlooks this basic fact. When one recognizes that one's sexual orientation is as immutable as one's race, the mere offering of an alternative institution is nothing more than an insult reflecting hetero superiority.

Supporters of such alternative institutions are saying, "OK, you are gay and can't change that, but you cannot access the same institutions as us holier-than-thou heteros." We know from our history that separate but equal is never equal. To say that my orientation precludes me from the exact same rights as you is insulting, degrading, and wrong.

The NAACP is a racist organization.
