Stop intrusive government regulation of marriage; keep marriage one man and one woman.

This isn't 1954, but marriage and family were stronger then than now. Same sex marriage is just another brick through the window.

Passing a bill allowing same sex marriage is not regulating marriage, it is de regulating it.

That makes no sense at all, dummy. Not asking which type of genitals we have when we marry would mean *less* government regulation of marriage.

You divorced hypocrites are a joke. How would gay marriage make the family less strong? I can tell you how divorce does, it breaks up a family.

<quoted text>No, I oppose dividing the populous by fertile and infertile, just as I oppose dividing them by sexual orientation. There is right to same sex marriage as marriage equality just as Muslims don't have the right to polygamy.
Gays have the right to marry under the same law as everyone else. The ban is on what government may do in the case of two men or two women who want to be considered married.
The only people proposing banning divorce are nuts on the Left; they think same sex marriage will continue to bring social improvement. I favor divorce because it keeps consent alive in marriage. Consent is as important as the male/female nature of marriage.
.
And if marriage were not gender specific, straight people would have every right to marry someone of the same sex. The problem is that the law inherently tells gay people to either marry a person incompatible to you, or do not marry at all. That is discrimination.

The point in saying that people should ban divorce is pointing out that straight people have already trashed the idea of marriage.

I really do not have an issue with polygamy, as long as you can figure out the taxes and benefits. Crazy people wanting more than one wife or one husband? Not my choice but more power to the man or woman who can handle that.
<quoted text>Good for you, I hope those children's parents find them and help raise them. Every child raised by a same sex couple is raised without a father or without a mother.
Every child raised by a same sex couple is achild being raised by two loving, committed adults in a stable home. Many of those children were tormented and abused by those parents you wish to help raise them. So your erroneous and completely rude comment shows your horrendous lack of knowledge about gay people and their lives. All studies have shown that children raised in gay and lesbian homes are as well adjusted as children raised in committed heterosexual households.

You completely ignore the case of the gay couple arrested late in 2011 for sexually abusing several of their adopted children. That case was the subject of a thread on this very forum.
You homosexuals always distribute your boilerplate responses as if they are absolute.
You are also referring to the present, where gay parenting takes place on a small scale. If same-sex marriage and same-sex parenting were allowed to become commonplace, on a large scale, where gays begin to marry simply for the economic benefits that would follow, I doubt that your assertions would continue to hold up.

Oh, you mean one case of abuse is enough to keep all gay couples from adopting?

What about ALL of the straight couples who hurt, abandon, or abuse their kids?

Like the woman in Ohio who put her baby in a microwave and tried to blame it on the kid's six year old cousin. Like the parents who lock their kids in rooms, closets, and basements for years. Like the man in Hazel Park that raped his 3 week old daughter. Like the parents who do drugs in front of their kids. Like the parents who try to sell their kids online or abandon them.

My assertions hold up just fine in states that allow gay marriage. You homophobes always use one case as justification for your bigoted opinions. Gay parenting will not change based on legal marriage. Gays and lesbians have raised families without the tax breaks for years.

Ah...so your goal is to destroy marriage by creating millions of fake, sexless, loveless marriages.

Interesting plan.

There have also been cases where heterosexual couples have abused their adopted children; should heterosexuals not be allowed to adopt? According to your way of thinking, they should not be.
