Yes, when warranted. Sheeple does not warant such accommodation or consideration. He is, as noted, a liar.
<quoted text> Links that I support civil unions and domestic partnerships? Are you as stupid and dishonest as Sheeple? History suggests that you are. Links that I served in the military with gays? I ask again. Are you as stupid and dishonest as Sheeple? My opinion is that you are.
And your opinion of me is as irrelevant, worthless, and dishonest as you are.
Sorry Quest. I am in contempt of Sheeple and Snyper's dishonesty and hypocrisy and always will be.
Yada, yada, yada. Civil unions are less than useless. We're having none of it. An amazing assortment of people (many of them leading conservatives) and corporations have filed briefs today, all in support of same sex marriage equality. Hopefully the Supremes are listening.

No ones listening to you and your second class solution. No one.

<quoted text> Fair point. Sheeple has always gone off the deep end with me. I'm guessing this is because I dare disagree with him. Lately he has just gotten ridiculous and ugly.
I admit that I like calling obvious liars like Sheeple on their obvious lies. I find lying offensive. You tend to be the voice of reason. What do you suggest?
P.S. How are you and the better half doing? I hope all is well with you.
We are doing wonderfully, thanks for asking. I hope all is well with you.

And, I wish I really had an answer. I try to stay away from personal attacks, even with people who drive me nuts, but sometimes I give in to it.

You and Sheeple hit each other the wrong way. That happens. But, even when I completely disagree with you, I have still enjoyed your posts in the past, and have enjoyed arguing with you in a civil manner.

I don't always agree with Sheeple, either, on everything. But I still very much enjoy his posts and have learned many things from them.

I learn from many of the people who post here. Even those that rub me the wrong way. We ALL need to understand how other's think and feel, even if we disagree. Can't move forward any other way.

But disagreements don't always mean that there are lies involved, either. When people hold opposing views, it doesn't always mean one is a lie. And, we ALL make mistakes, as well.

I guess someone has to start the civility, and just not post when it gets to ugly or personal. It makes it healthier for the poster, and everyone reading the posts. Otherwise is starts to descend into troll territory, and that's a depressing place to live.

And yes, I know, I fail at that, too, sometimes.

Oooooh, I've been "exposed".......

I'm sure that will stop marriage equality from passing in more & more states!

You are simply hilarious.

Often. And since you don't know, several commas in a row mean nothing, much like yourself. If you knew anything, you'd know to use an ellipses. Three dots, and when used at the end of a sentence, four, the past being the period to the sentence. That substantiates my observation about your stupidity... or charitably, maybe just rampant ignorance.

That's actually irrelevant to your being continually exposed as a liar and fraud. Where I don't require, or even ask that you agree with my position, you positively demand that I support yours. Sure, you try to bully, and you try to attack my character based on lies you have to make up, but that only reinforces my observation about your stupidity and dishonesty. Voters will and should decide the issue (although in California, many don't respect the electoral process and simply whine to he courts when they don't like the will of he people). Whatever the outcome, I sincerely hope continue to be sad, bitter and miserable as you so richly deserve to be.(I know, you'll deny this. But you have been shown to lie so often, your protest will be suspect.)

I've been told that. Indeed, I get paid to make people laugh... and think.(You would have difficulty with that last part.)

About you personally? Of course not! You're stupid! You're intellectually deficient and emotionally ugly. Your ONLY value to me is to give me the opportunity to ridicule a stupid and dishonest person who thinks he's clever.(I find that, and you, offensive.) I am delighted to not like you. Indeed, I believe your having no redeeming social value qualifies you as an obscenity under Supreme Court guidelines.
Any more stupid questions or dishonest declarations from you before I leave this worn out thread?
Here's the deal. I think you will declare some imaginary victory,(once again showing your dishonesty) and then jerk off in your version of a victory dance.(My guess is that dance will be rather short.)

I never demanded or even requested that you agree with my position. Nor am I concerned about agreeing with anybody, or their agreeing with me, about my support for civil unions.

Re: being useless, you would know more about how to do that. About being second class, I encourage you to aspire to that regardless of your orientation which is irrelevant to your class or demonstrated lack thereof.

Re: conservatives. Unlike many, I don't follow any political perspective in lockstep. My notion is that generally only intellectually lazy people do that.

You know, the really funny thing, is that 20 years ago, we *might* have settled for comprehensive civil unions. But we never had the chance to seriously consider it because the fundies and the idiots fight just as hard against civil unions as they do full marriage.

So, really, it's their own fault that we're fighting for and will eventually get full civil marriage equality. If they hadn't been so stubborn and stupid and hateful as to reject any and all recognition of our families, they might have actually got their way and shut us out of civil marriage. For a while, at least....

In retrospect, I'm glad they were so stubborn and stupid, though, because we likely would have been relegated to civil unions for far longer than we've waited for full equality.

;)

I can't figure out why he keeps calling you a liar. How does a person lie when they are simply stating facts? That's pretty much what you do here.

Does he understand what being a liar means?? I think he thinks it means that he doesn't agree with you on something.

But that doesn't make you a liar. It just makes you smarter than him.

I agree, and I point that out to them every chance I get.

The overwhelming majority of gays & lesbians would have GLADLY accepted civil unions, especially if they had the same federal benefits of marriage.

Though it may not have stopped marriage from coming eventually, they certainly could have delayed the inevitable for a few more decades; likely until after they are long dead.

They have no one to blame but themselves, and I too am in a way grateful for their vindictive hatred.

He's just holding a grudge because I embarrassed him on another topic long ago.

He has no counter argument, so he just claims everyone else is lying.

Ironically, attempts to use the law to punish us and restrict our rights, have resulted in advancing our rights. Lawrence and Romer are just two of the more recent examples.

"According to a coming book by historian Robert Beachy, the genesis of the modern gay rights movement came in 19th century Germany.

"Modern conceptions of homosexuality began, ironically, with an anti-sodomy law. When the German empire was unified in 1871, the Imperial Criminal Code included a law prohibiting sexual penetration of one man by another. Questions about what types of activity should fall under the law spurred a sustained public inquiry into the nature of same-sex eroticism and sexuality in general.[snip] This new view of same-sex love was pioneered by German doctors who published early case studies of homosexuals in the 1850s. German psychiatrist Richard von Krafft-Ebing released the first edition of his hugely influential Psychopathia Sexualis in 1886, which included multiple case studies of homosexuals that supported this new position. Through his work, Krafft-Ebing became a vocal opponent of the German anti-sodomy law, stating that homosexuality "should not be viewed as a psychic depravity or even sickness."

Beachy claims the world's first gay rights group, the Wissenschaftlich-humanitäres Komitee (Scientific-Humanitarian Committee) came into being at that time to gather petition signatures to repeal the anti-sodomy law. His book: "The German Invention Of Homosexuality."

Agreed. His lies are not about disagreeing. The disagreement is actually very simple. I support civil unions. Many on here don't. If that were all that was involved, there would not need to be lying. But if you can stomach reading Sheeple's crap, his BS is little BUT lies.

When there are virulent true anti-gay nut jobs posting, and their hate and lies are both sick and obvious like Sheeple's, why not go after them and crush them, or at the very least make them look stupid? I admit an antipathy for people like Sheeple who are incredibly stupid yet think they are so clever.

His funny one today is his claim that he embarrassed me long ago.
Quite the opposite and completely illogical. But since he thinks I won't check up on his bullsh!t for the purpose of my own cheap entertainment at his expense, he made more of his usual dishonest claims. Disagreements? Fine. Sheeple-sh!t? He's always in season to be humiliated.

Yep! I've always said, hatred will ALWAYS backfire. Always.

Karma's a bitch for them, isn't it? If they hadn't been so blinded by their own chosen Bible-based ignorance, and had simply practiced the loving religion they claim to follow, we may be relegated to civil unions for decades before being able to adequately demonstrate the inequity if that separate and inherently inferior institution.

But NOOOOOOO!!!! They had to unleash their hate and lie and deceive to pursue their evil. But nothing whups yer ass quite like Karma, does it??

Yep. If they hadn't fought so hard against civil unions, they wouldn't have handed us such clear and obvious proof of the inequality we suffer because of them. Good work, bigots! How's that workin' out for ya' now??

Btw, you're as virulently anti-gay as any fundie on here; that's why you oppose marriage equality just like they do.
