The Obama administration told the Supreme Court on Thursday that California's ban on same-sex marriage violates the Constitution's guarantee of equal protection, a position that could also cast doubt on prohibitions in other states. Full Story

The Transportation Security Administration announced Tuesday that U.S. airline passengers will soon be allowed to carry small knives in their carry-on bags, a move that prompted swift condemnation from a flight attendants union.
Will TSA insist on background checks on those bringing knives aboard planes……

Because, as I already explained, but you seem to need everything told to you twice or thrice, there have always been restrictions on that right. since day one.

<quoted text> You are saying that. I am saying there are roles for us all. We each are better at some things then others as individuals and genders. But we group everyone the same. Costs a lot of money to do this. Look, it is not going to change no mater what you interpret that I write or what I believe. So leave it at that.
TO BE CLEAR - I AM NOT SAYING THAT NEITHER MEN NOR WOMEN ARE BETTER THAN THE OTHER GENDER.
you're the one that said it in the first place.
Individually, yes, there are things that each person is better than other individuals. It's called a skill set. There may even be a few skills or abilities that are more gender driven - ones that deal with physical strength more than cognitive abilities.

Legally speaking, we are all equal. There is no gender differentiation contained within the Constitution. It states clearly and unequivocaly "ALL". It doesn't say one gender or the other, one race over others or even heterosexual or homosexual. It states "ALL". "ALL" can only be interpreted as encompassing every American citizen and is not exclusionary, not even by definition.

And that's part of the discussion about same sex marriage. That's part of the facts presented in the court cases. That's part of the judge's writings and findings in the cases wending their way through the process. "ALL" is interwoven completely in the entire "shooting match" to use a slang term.

hmmmm....maybe i'lls start calling you either "psycho" or "clair" in light of this. thanks. i'll keep that in mind, clair.

your "slippery slope" doesn't fly as an excuse not to allow full american citizens that are of the age of consent to marry a non-related adult of their choosing, regardless of age. try reading the judge's findings in the cases going through currently to understand that.

Thanks for your concern, Mr queer, but I'll be alright. We'll just have to wait and see how they rule. One thing I can tell you, usually what you expect to happen, rarely does. This case should be no exception.
simple. read the previous court's rulings to get an inkling of how a judge thinks.
but that may be a little frightening for you.

Background checks are for the public safety moron - you want a felon with a long rap sheet in possesion of a firearm?
STFU you moron!
Guess what stupid - that's not in the 2nd amendment either you fool - but it makes perfect sense.
tony, he just wants any flaming nut to be able to buy that god-given semi automatic with a magazine that'll hold as many bullets that can be designed, because, by god, nuts have rights too.

i guess he's never seen a crazy person hold a weapon. he might think that's not even possible.

but down here in texas, sadly, it happens all the friggin' time.

Where did I say anything about a photo ID and we already have background checks. As usual Obama and his czars that are all against guns have other restrictions. One is shotguns are assault weapons.

The founding principle of America is equal protection, there is no other point.

One's sexual orientation is not now, nor has it ever precluded any American citizen access to fundamental human rights granted by God and ensured by the United States Government.

Again I ask, are you a proponent of limiting some citizens from the protections of America's Principles?

Free black men were not allowed to own guns. from day one of the constitution being ratified. men who wouldn't swear allegiance to the revolution. In 1792 a law required all men legal to own guns to have a military style rifle.(sounnds like Obamacare, huh?) AND REGISTER IT!!!!

Once again you lose, pookie....have you posted anything correct today?

why do you know so little about your country? you're not reaaly a citizen are you?(you shouldn't be one...)

Here you go buddy! The court summery's on the overturning of the same sex marriage ban in Iowa and the summery of the Prop 8 case in California that was then reaffirmed by the higher court! Very good read and pay particular attention to the "Equal" protection clause opinion in the Iowa summery! One can't be anymore logical when it comes to Constitutional interpretation!

The Iowa Supreme court verdict.

And finally a link as to the reasons why Prop 8 was and is Unconstitutional! Again, the logic is irrefutable!

By saying I will not take your guns, and then try to limit access to them and to track is taking them as well as an assault weapons ban that we once had but didn't work. Maybe that remedial reading would help you post more factually.

Since there were many blacks that fought in the civil war, I'm sure the restrictions worked.

If there is any laws or the constitution being broken or ignored, then state them, otherwise it's just word and empty arguments.
