For those of you who may not be aware of it, Wyoming's nicknmae is "The Equality State". Wyoming was teh FIRST state to grant women the right to vote, and Wyoming was the FIRST state to elect a female governor.

I lived in Laramie in 1974.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the GOP-dominated Wyoming legislature ends up passing marriage equality before the Dem-dominated legislatures in Illinois, Rhode Island, Delaware, Hawaii, Minnesota, etc?

Of course it's extremely unlikely, but we can always dream......

"Rhode Island..." is the only state in New England without a marriage equality law. It's legislature is also one of the MOST DEMOCRATIC in the U.S. with AT LEAST 85% of the members being DEMOCRATS. So why is the DEMOCRATIC "Rhode Island..." legislature so opposed to marriage equality ?

I agree- eventually.

I just enjoy the thought of a solidly republican controlled state like Wyoming slipping in under the radar!

Religion.

In this case the catholic church.

In addition to unfounded fear and religion as others mentioned, I suspect a major factor is that they already recognize same sex marriages performed in other states and countries, and as a result, individual legislators don't want to stand up against the religious opposition they will face if they vote for equality. It is easier to let the gay couples spend their money in neighboring states than face the religious and fearful voters at home if you don't have to.

So in other words, DEMOCRATS are wimps, cowards, and hypocrites.

After they loose a couple more national elections, they'll finally wise up.

I'd guess after 2 terms of President Hillary they'll be ready to cut the cord and return to their roots as the party of Lincoln.

I think she sunk herself by saying it doesn't matter who in The State Dept.(herself) is responsible for dropping the ball in Benghazi which resulte din our gay ambassador being murdered along with other Americans. In other words, Hillary said "Who cares ?!"

No, I'd say she is Evil, because it's the TRUTH. Anyone who labels themself a "Democrat" is someone who gains your worship no matter crimes they commit, or have commited. You guys worship Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Uncle Joe Stalin, and The Obamaniac. They all subscribe to the same Evil philosophy, which is responsible for more than 100 million deaths. And that means nothing to you. That is why they ARE EVIL.

Yes, some things ARE as simple as black and white.

Nonsense. We just find the Republican Party to promote the interests of the super wealthy at the expense of everyone else. Democrats are the lesser of two evils. Republicans are pretty much irrelevant.

If they are irrelevant, then why have the Republicans held the majority in the House for so many years ?

By redistricting. They can't win otherwise. They simply don't have a majority. This is why they carry excess baggage like fundies and Tea- Bagers.
