Vince Vaughn Wants Derogatory ‘Gay’ Joke Kept In Film

Oct 15, 2010 Full story: lezgetreal.com 69
Research has actually shown that while sticks and stones may break bones, words actually do hurt you. They can cause a realignment in the brain that leads to negativity, if used in a negative fashion. Recently, Universal Studios agreed to remove the word ‘gay’ used in a derogatory fashion from the movie trail for The Dilemma’, but Vince Vaughn is hoping that the line remains in the movie. Much of what is written is what people put with. There is and has been much ignorance in this country and world towards gay people and people who have been accused by the ignorant. Saying that, the world is one of constant strife, wars and violence with brief periods of peace. Economics, levels of wealth and living off of the less fortunate makes us all look good in the self rightous world of personal greatness. But foundation is family. Heterosexual family. With all of its thorns. That has been half destroyed. Which makes every economic down worse for much longer periods of time. If you remain a free people. Forty years ago, people sent their kids to school with a lunch bag. Today the same kids get two good meals with breakfast and lunch at school.Just one reason we are finished. But is sounds good don't it?

Hell froze over yesterday when I saw you comment something positive about repealing DADT.
If s/he has suddenly turned "nice," s/he's not even going to recognize me. One of the sadder things in life, to me, is when a person seems suddenly to "see the error of their ways" in a way that suggests they are beaten. I don't like it. I have explained to him/her that I *like* anyone standing up for what they believe in *IF IT'S NOT VIRULENTLY HATEFUL*, and s/he's not, really. I simply voice my disagreement tirelessly, in some cases.

I doubt this applies in the current case, but I dislike the idea that someone would become pro-gay because they'd felt "forced." It's simply not a good thing,*with the caveat that I don't care if it happens in cases where the person is virulently anti-gay*. In all other cases, I would rather the person WANT to change their stance, not be forced. But as I must stress, I am NOT saying this applies in the current case.

Oh Please! Everybody knows "gays" are just for comic relief in the movies and real life. They are not to be taken serious.

We also happen to be the greatest military leaders, the greatest thinkers, the greatest inventors, the greatest authors, the greatest artist, etc, etc so we're much more than just some comic relief.

But, yes, our personalities, wits and senses of humor usually go far beyond most heterosexuals.

I also don't care about this. The joke is even mitigated *by the way it's delivered*-- but the media left that out, and printed only the offending line. Granted, some would say "it's still bad." But I agree with "bs detector" here; people *have to put up with shit* in order to maintain freedom. I do not believe that something like this in a comedy is causing suicides; this is trickle-down.
