One can follow a fairly simple rule. Avoid all travel to the following:

Most Caribbean, Meso-American and South American countries where the language is English or a creole based on English (with the possible exceptions of the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.)

All countries of the former Soviet Union, unless you keep very much in the closet and avoid gay venues.

All of Africa.

All other areas with a majority Muslim population (including portions of countries).

Of course homophobia exists elsewhere but I believe if LGBT people would just write these off as destinations for now they would be a lot better off.

In Russia, it's the dictatoship that will harass and assault anyone who tries to protest.

When the summer steroid event was in Beijing, it was athletes OWN governments that harassed and assaulted anyone who tried to protest.

OR you can NOT flaunt your deviant sexuality, act like normal decent people, and go wherever you want to!
