Ministers join gay marriage revolt

Conservative Cabinet members, junior ministers and party enforcers are among around 180 MPs poised to oppose or abstain in a vote on gay marriage, it has been claimed.

Tories have always been a millstone around the neck of reform or change of any kind in England.. And the Church has always hung from said stone to give it weight..
