You are confusing the rulings they did on organizations like the BSA with rulings on businesses and religious discrimination.
BTW in the case of the BSA it wasn't even the free exercise clause but the free association clause.
I agree the court has however not in a case such as the florist's.

She served them on previous occasions. It wasn't until she found out the wedding cake was for them that she refused based on "religious freedom".
The State of Wa has charged her as a the criminal she is. Like I said, if she had done the same with a Black Jewish couple or even a Muslim couple none of you would go near her case!
Why? Because she served them before!
End of story.
State of WA charges will only give prudence to weather or not the charges are true in nature.

Unlike you, I see the importance of this case because I live real world and understand the implications of the decisions.

I'd love to respond to the rest of your inane ramblings but I ran out of space. Till then:

Moral Benefits of Wisdom
2 My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
ROFLMAO. I just love this tall tale stuff you keep posting.

DNF please ask those on the GLBT thread if I am a bigot wrapped in the bible. Better yet ask Laci, I am certain she will not hold back when it comes to how misguided you are about me as a poster on topix.

Race is a protect class and has been since the inception of the Civil Rights and the Supreme Court has made this clear numerous times in many cases however sexual orientation has not been addressed by the Supreme Court in this fashion. I do see the need for such a case to be heard and feel certain this case will make it to the Supreme Court based on numerous factors. I am dumbfounded at how that of the LGBT do not see the importance of these things being clearly addressed.

Go look at cases that may be winding they're way towards the Supreme Court........so far, there's the case pending regarding the photographer from New Mexico:
http://bigstory.ap.org/article/appeal-photogr...

Might I suggest you take a look at this link as well:
http://www.politifact.com/florida/statements/...

Know this.......if these cases lose in the lower Courts and the Appeals Court.......they're chances of winning at SCOTUS is probably not good.......but like ya said.....we might just have to wait for that outcome........but know this, the first time it happens in reverse......you watch that heterosexual couple scream bloody murder!!!

NorCal I want to live to see the courts to be clear and leave no gray area. I am somewhat disappointed in several recent rulings because it left several things unanswered and room for continued discrimination.

The grey areas will be taken care of with every new ruling, but at the moment......these cases clearly show discrimination and they violate the various anti-discrimination policies......the florist in Washington is NOT going to win and neither is the photographer in New Mexico.

With regards to why you post the way you do, well.....I have a few opinions regarding those very issues, but I will keep them to myself for the most part........but they do differ from what you claim in your posts.

Peace:-)

And gays aren't a protected class? Didn't the Supreme Court Majority say they were in their ruling for DOMA? Even if gays weren't a protected class, why shouldn't they be?

If same sex marriage becomes law and you demonstrate, speak out or act in ways consistent with your values; you could be sued next.

Same sex marriage is bad because it means neighbor suing neighbor.

Just like how the courts regularly hear cases where different religious groups sue each other over their differences of opinion.

Wait... That doesn't happen either.

Sorry, but it has EVERYTHING to do with this case. Because this wasn't concerning a violation of federal law, but those of the state. The SCOTUS ruled that as long as the state law did not prohibit only a religious practice or belief and applied to all, it was not a violation of the Free Exercise Clause of those whose religious beliefs were impacted. Since prohibitions against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation apply to ALL business owners and not just anti-gay religious types, their claim that it violates their right to the free exercise of their beliefs is a too bad for you situation. they'll just have to abide by the the law along like everyone else who doesn't blame God for their discriminatory beliefs. The "God says no gays" signs are a violation of the law, it is that simple.

Sorry Brian.......this really ISN'T about Gays and Lesbians having the right to marry.....it's about Evangelistic Fundamentalist trying to side step laws they don't want to follow........I mean Marriage Equality is ALREADY the LAW in Washington!!!
