We in the U.S. do not live in a theocracy (Thank God), and other religious groups, INCLUDING CHRISTIAN DENOMINATIONS, have the opposite view.

Now you either believe in Freedom Of Religion or you don't. And by and large I believe, Catholics DON'T.

Now this country was founded BY PROTESTANTS, and as a church-going Protestant, I believe it was a HUGE mistake to allow Catholics into this country in the first place, and we should have done everything in our power to stop it in the first place. But that boat has already sailed.

But as Catholics are already here, and have been here unfortunately for a very long time, they should learn what Freedom Of Religion means. ONE thing it means is NOT imposing Roman Catholic theology, thru civil law, on people who FREELY CHOOSE NOT to be Roman Catholics !

I'm extremely anti-Catholic and DAMN PROUD of it !

(On a personal note, me and my siblings were born and raised Protestant. My younger sister converted to Roman Catholicism 10 years ago. I haven't spoken to her since, and never shall.)

Sad pathetic little bigots are all pushed out of shape because the world is evolving and they're going the way of the dinosaurs. Good freaking riddance.
And just remember you daft bible thumping maroons, marriage is a CIVIL issue NOT religious. The church doesn't own marriage. You lost. Get over it. I've seen two year olds that have better manners and don't cry as much as you do.

You are so unlike Christ. If he ever comes back, you're in for me heck of a surpirse.

If you read this article be sure and read the comments. I have never seen so many stupid and inane arguments against SSM. It would be hilarious except for the fact that they probably really believe the garbage they're handing out. What a bunch of freakin'idiots!

Of course they do ! These people do NOT believe in Freedom Of Religion. They just don't.

They will lose, because their arguments against granting marriage equality are illogical, nonsensical, and unconstitutional. But those are the kinds of arguments you get from people who believe that we do, or should, live in a theocracy, and who simply don't believe in the concept of Freedom Of Religion, although they will argue, unconvincingly, that they do.

The protestant sects that moved here didn't believe in Freedom of Religion, either, unless it was the freedom to abide by THEIR religion.

The only sects that believed in the Freedom of Religion that WE understand were the Deists, Quakers and Unitarians.

One of the commenters said: "My sister walked away from her church because they taught homosexuality is wrong..Well guess what? Her daughter is "gay"..You can walk away from your church sister dear but you cannot walk away from God..His teachings will never change..He will never make homosexuality right..Ever..It will always be a sin.."

Gee, it is so refreshing to find a person who is so sure about knowing exactly what God's teachings are, and be so sure that he will never "make homosexuality right," and that it will "always be a sin". She must be very proud of herself to have such a direct and clear line to the almighty. </SARC>

Hubris much? This has to be close to the ultimate conceit, to believe that you know the mind of your deity.

I love the woman who said she opposed marriage for same-sex couples because she didn't want her child to see public affection by same-sex couples.

Yeah, because being denied a marriage license prevents that!

No wonder these idiots keep losing if that's the best arguments they can come up with.

To all you 'christians" who have perverted Christs words into a religion based on counting the sins of others while ignoring your own, I suggest you all take a good look at Matt. 25:31-46 and Luke 10:25-37.

Obviously she is wrong. Gays are responsible for killing the family atmosphere of parades and a week at Disney World in Florida. I doubt they are all 'married.' What gay marriage does do is allow more of this behavior that you call pride.

I'm talking about NOW, not THEN. The Roman Catholic Church, and many Roman Catholics STILL SIMPLY do NOT believe in the concept of Freedom Of Religion. They never have, and many, if not most, still do not..

And as PROOF of this FACT, the Roman Catholic Church, thru it's clergy AND laity, continues to try to impose Roman Catholic doctrine in the U.S. that VIOLATES THE RELIGIOUS FREEDOMS OF PEOPLE WHO FREELY CHOOSE NOT TO BE CATHOLIC, by having civil laws passed, PARTICULARLY MARRIAGE LAWS, that conform with Roman Catholic doctrine, REGARDLESS of other religion's differing, and sometimes diametrically opposed, beliefs on the issues.

If someone stands up and PROUDLY PROCLAIMS that they are OPPOSED to The U.S. Constitution, particularly The Bill Of Rights, and the RIGHTS and LIBERTIES that they protect, would you not say that that is EVIL ?

How so?

If anything, once we have marriage equality & employment protections across the nation, there will be less reason for public activism.

Just like you don't see women marching in the street demanding equal rights much anymore now that they essentially have equality.

If you don't want to hear from us, simply give us equality and you'll never hear another peep from me.

The longer you fight this, the longer you have to hear about it.
